Terrible company that is disorganised, deceitful, and aggressive. We inherited them when tenants moved out and the follow up billing was completely inaccurate. After a lengthy phone call they essentially admitted their mistake (and that we owed no money), but a few weeks later I got an aggressive letter demanding payment or it would go to a collection agency. Calling them takes hours and they do not have any competent people to resolve issues. I would never voluntarily sign up with this company.

I spent several months trying to get a response out of Tonik and the best advice I can give is you is don't waste your time on calling them as you will be on the phone for hours and they will either ignore you or give you false information. I took my case to the Energy Ombudsman (without a deadlock letter) and they resolved my case for me. The process was very easy once it had started but you must wait 8 weeks between your letter of complaint to Tonik and contacting the Energy Ombudsman. The Energy Ombudsman told Tonik to pay back all the credit they had withheld plus a fine for their lack of customer care which I have since been paid. I would strongly recommend documenting everything in emails from the start of your first complaint so you can attach these as evidence. Good luck!

Website easy to use & understand. Reasonable fuel prices by comparison with other suppliers. So far I am pleased with the customer service.

Avoid at all costs, me and my partner inherited Tonik when we moved into our property back in March, since then we’ve got the impression that Tonik energy are deceitful, unorganised And threatening! It’s taken them 6 months to sort out and send us a bill for the 3 weeks we inherited them for.. considering we set up our supply with EDF as soon as we moved in. They are completely unaware of what they’ve emailed, text and posted to us and couldn’t grasp any of the information we put forward to them. They have charged us £90 for 3 weeks supply.. putting into account that one of their letters states that the tariff for electricity for the year is £95! The old tenants paid £50 for gas and electricity a month. Absolutely appalling communication within their own company as well as with their customers. Overall avoid this terrible excuse of a energy supplier.

This is our second year with Tonik Energy. Why? after searching comparison sites as I do every year Tonik Energy remained very competetive. Comparison sites tend to quote savings based on the assumpton that you will allow your current supplier to roll your account over to their standard tariff. Remove that assumption and savings are not so great. Tonik Energy provided 100% green Gas and Electricity plus this year free boiler service is also included. A great deal.

Good price for renewable electricity and zero carbon gas usage. Never had any problems with this company, easy to submit monthly readings via the email. Would recommend.

So far had one complaint upheld by the Ombudsman and another raised today due to missing statements and wildly inaccurate accounts - no comms at all from Tonik. Steer clear.

Have seriously gone downhill in recent months. Used to be able to contact their customer service at speed through social media, email or telephone - now your questions will be left unanswered. Moved home and was going to get Tonik to supply at new address but after recent experience they've lost a customer. Disappointing

My meter looped from 99999 to 00000. Tonik’s account system apparently can’t handle this (surely not uncommon?) event, freaked out, and quadrupled my monthly direct debit. When I realised next month, I started phoning, emailing and sending photos of the meter. But by then their accounting software was “being upgraded” and they were unable to change the direct debit for... what turned out to be nearly six months. They were able to keep taking the money though! Eventually, they had taken more than £2000 excess that I had to claim back. (They don’t pay interest on credit balances this large either). I got a £50 apology with the refund, but its worrying that a company can’t manually control their billing for large chunks of a year.

We have renewed again with Tonik as we have found their pricing fair and the offer of a free Boiler Service is an unexpected bonus. Our only criticism is that on the monthly statement our credit is stated as minus ! a bit confusing !!

I applied for duel fuel but they only moved electric. Tonik did not inform me of this so when I got 2 bills from different companies I had to chase around finding out what had gone wrong - not a smooth transition at all. They were still charging me the same direct debit for duel as well! 3 months down the line gas is finally moved over. Will I stay when the term is over- simply no

I left Tonik a few months ago after they said they were going to increase my monthly payment, oddly in early summer when my usage was going to decrease. I have still not received around £40 from my credit balance. I have emailed them but no satisfactory response.
