Tonik DONT want to speak to their customers really they want you to spend hours on their website back and forth trying to find information . They don’t answer questions quickly but take days weeks to reply and if you dare to complain about the lack of service they take up to 8 weeks to respond and they think this is all perfectly acceptable . Don’t be fooled by the cool green environment marketing they don’t care about their customers at all . Horrid experience .

Like others on this thread I've experienced issues settling my final bill with Tonik. First, they continued to bill me after the switch, which I then contacted them about (using their form), and I think as a result of that I received a final bill via their portal about 2 weeks later - they didn't let me know at all though. When checking the final bill I noticed that they had double billed me for nearly a years worth of gas by entering a wrong value for the previous amount. I was trying to make sense of the bill and I eventually found this erroneous value in the gas bill page as an "estimated" bill, that was over 1000 units smaller than my last "actual" bill around the time of an actual reading. This is the value that they had used to calculate the final bill, not the value on the previous bill that they actually billed me for. No matter I thought, simple mistake. So I use the form again and message them to let them know. I also tried to phone, got through to someone in South Africa, who told me she couldn't help because there were flags on my account. I was promised a callback from billing and never got one. Tried to reply to the support ticket again, but I've yet to had any personal response from Tonik at all. Tried to call again and got to someone picking up the phone before they hung up on me! (Don't know if they'd seen my number, were about to go to lunch, or it was a mistake), but it took me 35 minutes to get that far. To their credit, they've refunded the balance on the account to the amount they calculated, they're just about £200 short on what they actually owe me. I'm now 6 weeks in. In 2 weeks I can either contact the Ombudsman or just go straight to small claims. I'll make one more attempt to call them but I've lost hope at this point. I could probably use the DD guarantee to get my money back, but they'll probably send debt collectors after me and ruin my credit. Seriously, if you have an account with them, balance your account manually - calculate your final bill yourself and pay them manually, don't let them keep taking your DD. Also document EVERYTHING with photos of your meter (perhaps with a dated newspaper or something) and get out. If they screw up, good luck... At one point Tonik used to be good, but it seems things have gone down the pan very quickly...
I was originally happy with this company when I switched to them a couple of years ago. However, once they were no longer competitive, I switched away. I was also unhappy when they suddenly increased my direct debit at very short notice. It was time to go! Since then, their customer service has frankly been appalling. They showed a credit on my account at the time it was closed, but subsequently took additional money out of my account, with no explanation. (Note to self: remember to cancel the direct debit!) They have continued to ignore my emails asking them why this happened and why they didn't tell me they were going to do this. I am no longer able to access my online account either, which is incredibly frustrating. So, in summary, I would suggest people avoid this company. The cheapest supplier is not always the best (not that they compare that favourably on cost any more). I have been shocked at the complete lack of customer service. It's very sad - you would think that energy companies in particular would realise that it's getting easier for customers to switch. You'd think they'd want to be professional - I've switched back to previous suppliers in the past - however I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with this company.

Good tariff BUT- Back in May this year I received notice that my monthly payment would increase by £15.00 from June. This seemed a little steep and since I was unable to speak to them by phone I sent an email asking them to contact me to discuss the matter and to ensure that I was on the most beneficial tariff. This email was completely ignored and the next I heard was an email telling me my present agreement expired in September and giving details of the most suitable new tariff which to be fair looked very reasonable and I have now signed up for a further 12 months. However I am now left feeling a little 'niffed' that they chose to ignore my email in May. I will see how their service goes in the 12 months before renewing next year

With my tariff with Tonik coming to an end I attempted to renew by moving to a new tariff but no reply to email to Tonik. Bills and statements from Tonik had become increasingly muddled so I decided instead to go with a new supplier. I had built up a credit balance of over £400 which I expected to be refunded, but instead, having cancelled my direct debit, I received a bill for nearly £500 based on a bizarre statement with no detailed breakdown and with numbers that seems to have been conjured out of thin air. That's almost a year's worth of phantom energy use! Repeated emails and a message on their webpage contact form have gone unanswered. Almost impossible to contact by phone - eventually got through on Friday afternoon when I was told they were unable to take calls and I should call again on Monday. So I look forward to another week of waiting on hold! In the meantime I have received further demands for payment threatening debt-collectors and bailiffs. I can only assume that those who rate this company 5 stars are invited associates or people who have never attempted to deal directly with Tonik. Total shambles.

I have been with Tonik for a few years, very good service with no problems at all. Would recommend.
Have used Tonic Energy as a supplier for a couple of years and although not necessarily the cheapest their service has been very good and queries have been answered promptly.

I have been a customer of tonic energy and have been very satisfied with there service there 3% interest reward is a good feature if your account is in credit I have just renewed my tariff for another year as it was still competitive with a free boiler service included
