Feb 07,2025A good product and competitive pricing considering the logs are delivered. Logs have been better cut up this time to fit my log burner. Previous consignments have contained logs which were too big. I’ve had to buy a log splitter to deal with them so they are not wasted. Unfortunately the communication systems between the supplier and haulage firm and the customer still needs some adjusting. I had an email to say the delivery would be by 11 am. After five or six phone calls to enquire where it was the delivery never arrived. It was a wasted day for me. Came late the next morning. The customer needs to have a window for delivery to plan their day and be available to receive such a bulky item. I hope people responsible take note of and act upon this quite reasonable review given the poor communication and no delivery on designated day.

Feb 07,2025Pellets are good quality and very good price. The only problem I have is the delivery company doesn’t send them in a small enough lorry to go through our gate posts, so then drops them on the access drive that is used by several other houses. The lorry driver says they do have smaller Lorrie’s and I have requested one.

Feb 05,2025Let me start by saying there is nothing wrong with the logs, lovely ash logs which will hopefully burn just as well as previous deliveries. My problem with both this delivery and the previous one in November is that I have had to contact the courier to find out where it was; on 3rd Feb at 13:00 it was still at the depot where it had been since ordering on 27/1 and didn't leave there until 14:36 which meant I would again be stacking logs in the dark. Sure enough, they turned up at 16:00 after the lovely driver had phoned me for directions. I don't know what has happened to WH, presumably subsumed into a company called Zebra, but whoever you are, you need to rethink your courier arrangements. Previously my logs were delivered in daylight by Avon with great service, but I don't think I can stand the stress of another Pallex delivery so regrettably I will need to look elsewhere for my logs which is a shame because as I said at the start, they burn beautifully.

Feb 04,2025Well packaged, great price however informed by email they would be delivered 31st January and didn't arrive until 3rd February. No communication to let me know and tracker still said "we will deliver today 31st January". Will give them a further try as issues are more to do with their delivery company Update Excellent reply from the company who say they are going to improve their communication which was the aim of the review.

Feb 04,2025Some of the logs were very chunky, that was not the problem, when split and moisture content taken , they were over 35% M/C. I believe not long enough in the kiln drier as the large logs are not dry.

Feb 03,2025We have a gravel driveway your delivery is by stack truck so they drop anywhere which doesn’t help. Any other companies we have used drop by hoist So we can have the logs put where we want and not stuck in the middle of the driveway. Maybe you should make this more clear to your customers.

Feb 07,2025Good prices and pretty good service in my experience. It pays to be careful what you order, however. I was using the kiln dried oak logs which were excellent - slow burning while producing loads of heat. Unfortunately they are delivered in a crate, meaning they have to be unloaded individually to the log pile. I decided to try the "Premium hard wood kiln dried logs" as they come in hessian bags, which are easier to unload. Unfortunately, some of the logs are little more than what I would consider kindling and very few are a decent size. This means that they burn very quickly and you're forever jumping up and down to refill the burner. On the plus side, they are extremely easy to light, requiring only a single firelighter. On balance I'll suffer the inconvenience of unloading the oak logs in future and accept that they're harder to light. I can get away with 4-5 oak logs in an evening whereas I'm likely to use a whole bag of the "premium".
