Oct 15,2023I recently had the pleasure of booking a week-long vacation in Albufeira through Algarve Vacation, and I can't express how thoroughly delighted I was with every aspect of my stay. From the moment I booked the property to the day I departed, it was an absolute dream experience. We chose a villa with a pool and jacuzzi, and it exceeded all expectations. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a pristine, well-maintained property that felt like a true home away from home. The pool area was our daily oasis, and the jacuzzi provided a luxurious touch to our evenings. Whether we were lounging by the pool or soaking in the jacuzzi, the serene surroundings added to the overall sense of relaxation. The interior of the villa was equally impressive. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we often enjoyed preparing meals and dining al fresco by the pool. One aspect that truly stood out during our stay was the seamless communication with Olivia from Algarve Vacation. From our initial inquiry to the moment we checked out, Olivia was incredibly responsive, attentive, and accommodating. Oct 12,2023This was the worst Albufeira holiday we have ever experienced; and we have been holidaying in Albufeira for over 15 years and many spent in the same apartment block but different apartments and owner/manager. The problems started prior to check-in. We were told to contact the management company’s local representative when we arrived in the resort; which we did. No one answered or returned our numerous calls. I eventually telephoned them again at 3pm to be informed that we could not check in until 4pm – which we already knew. We were just following instructions provided prior to our holiday! The check-in was the worst we have ever experienced and we have travelled extensively in Europe and the USA. We were provided with a front building door code and a key safe box code just prior to check-in. The problems started when we tried to gain access to the building’s front door. We tried to input the building door code provided. This was very difficult as the numbers and letters were so eroded that it took us several times to input the correct code. Using a permanent marker to outline the letters & numbers would have solved this problem - a maintenance issue. We were not the only ones to experience this difficulty as we watched numerous people experiencing the same problem during our 2 week holiday. We even had to go down and let people in. Whilst trying the input the building door code I slipped and fell because the cobblestones near the building code entry keypad were extremely slippery. A definite health & safety hazard. There should be a written warning of this hazard. I never experienced this hazard/difficulty on previous holidays in this complex. I really injured myself which resulted in reduced mobility and several visits to local health care professional. I was really concerned that I had damaged my previous spinal surgery. Furthermore, we experienced awful problems whilst trying to gain access to the apartment. Once we obtained the key to the building front door (the key wouldn’t work/open the building's front door at any time) and the apartment key from the key safe box code, we couldn’t get the key to open the apartment’s door. I again telephoned the management company’s local representative via the telephone several times, who told me to “push” the key in the door! But nothing worked. Again, I contacted the management company’s local representative via the telephone who told me to send her a picture of the key, which we did. They sent me a photo of a button (circled in blue) on the key with a with a message "this is the button" and was told to push this button to open the door; we discovered ourselves that we were supposed to push this button to extend the key in order for the key to fit & open the door. Thankfully, we were then able to open the door after trying for approximately 30-40 minutes! Why could this photo of the button on the key and proper instructions how to extended the key not have be sent to us (or anybody using the apartment) prior to arrival or with the key safe code? Would make a lot of sense to me. Really, really awful planning and poor customer care. We also got a message that we had a “welcome” meeting at 5pm. We got into the apartment at 4.45pm!!!!! The representative was only really interested if we wanted to book some trips. We told him about our experience with the key. He laughed as said that you had to push the button to extend the key because the key needed to be small to fit into the key safe. If we had been informed properly prior to check-in, we would have done this. The apartment's kitchen & balcony did not look the same as we viewed on Vrbo web site. The bidet, toilets and bath’s waste outlets were very “grubby an extensive build up of scum” and not clean. A Brillo pad would have cleaned these areas - so much so that I never used the bidet or shower. Some of the fittings such as light switches – especially the one for the kitchen fell off when you used it; and you had to click in back into place. At times, we had difficulty locking the balcony door. Two of the kitchen window's were covered with curtains. When we opened the curtains, the glass in the windows were discoloured with a build up of scum/dirt/condensation? Extremely dirty looking. We could not get the kitchen windows open. On stays in different apartments in the same complex, we were always able to open the kitchen windows. It was like “the house that Jack built.” I’m sure the management company will say we never contacted them with the issues we experienced – but we felt “what was the point” after our initial experience contacting them about the problems with the apartment’s front door key. This experience has put us off going back and book any of the other apartments in the same complex. This is a great shame as the apartment complex is in a great location in Albufeira Old town.

Oct 11,2023Recently stayed at Villa Charlotte for 1 week with family and friends. After reading recent reviews I almost cancelled but emailed the company about my concerns and was told all the problems had been rectified. Checked in and first problem was the view from the pool was overlooking a building site and there was a building half completed right next to us. Not too much noise throughout the day but the view definitely spoiled the photos we were taking. Second issue was the shutters for the main bedroom were stuck and wouldnt go up therefore my mother and father in law couldnt access their balcony or get any natural light into the bedroom. Despite several maintenance guys coming out they couldnt be fixed so remained like that for the full week! Third issue and the one I was most concerned about was the damp fusty smell on the lower ground level and the mould and damp spots on some of the bedroom walls and showers. Because there were 17 of us staying in the villa we had no choice but to use the lower level bedrooms but the 2 that had no windows or ventilation were very fusty smelling at times, this was disappointing as I had already brought this up as an issue and was assured it was okay. The area was nice and the rest of the villa was okay but I definitely wouldnt book again.

Oct 06,2023Mi estancia en la hermosa moradia en Carvoeiro a finales de septiembre fue simplemente maravillosa, y gran parte de ello se debió al excelente servicio brindado por la empresa Algarvevacation. Desde el momento en que llegamos, nos sentimos bienvenidos y atendidos en todo momento. La moradia en sí era espaciosa y acogedora, con todas las comodidades que podríamos haber deseado. Las habitaciones estaban impecablemente limpias y cómodas, y la decoración tenía un encanto rústico que se mezclaba perfectamente con el entorno natural. Uno de los aspectos más destacados de nuestra estancia fue, sin duda, la piscina climatizada. Esta característica enriqueció nuestra experiencia de manera significativa, permitiéndonos disfrutar de un baño relajante incluso cuando las noches comenzaban a ser un poco más frescas. Fue un lujo que valoramos enormemente. La ubicación de la moradia también fue excelente, a poca distancia de algunas de las playas más hermosas de la región. Pudimos dar largos paseos por la costa y disfrutar del sol de septiembre mientras explorábamos las calas escondidas y admirábamos los impresionantes acantilados. En resumen, mi estancia en esta moradia en Carvoeiro fue una experiencia verdaderamente inolvidable, y gran parte de ello se debió al excelente servicio de la empresa y a la comodidad de la piscina climatizada. Si buscas un refugio tranquilo en un entorno natural impresionante y con acceso a algunas de las playas más hermosas de Portugal, no puedo recomendar este lugar lo suficiente. Fue el escape perfecto para desconectar y recargar energías, y espero con ansias regresar en el futuro.

Oct 05,2023We booked Villa Palms from 16th September until 7th October. During the first days we experienced a massive rat plague inside the house that couldnt be fixed of an exterminator. The rats were predominantly in the kitchen biting our food. We are a family with two babies and as a consequence we moved out on 23th September not wanting to spend our vacation in disgust and facing live traps all around the house. Algarve Vacation Agency had no houses left and we booked another house on our own that caused extra costs. We booked the second time with Algarve Vaction but now we are massively disappointed about the customer service. We did only receive a compensation that didnt even cover the two unused weeks in the house. We had to fully pay for a week of living with rats, not to mention the struggle we had of communicating with the agency, house cleaning and exterminator. We communicated several times that we expect a full refund for the three weeks but the agency stuck to their decision eventhough they seemed to agree at the beginning to refund the two unused weeks plus a compensation. Poor service and disappointed customers.

Oct 02,2023The service from Algarve Vacation was excellent from start to finish. They were professional and prompt throughout the booking process and leading up to the holiday. When we arrived, we were greeted by Sandra who went through all the details of our villa with us and was on-hand throughout our stay for any assistance or advice. The accommodation was clean, well located and looked just how it appeared in the photos and videos. Whilst we were there, we also booked the private yacht experience through them which was flawless. They arranged all transport to and from the villa, as well as to the wonderful Algarbe restaurant in between. We went as a group of 12, and all members of the party were impressed with the service we received from the Algarve Vacation team. Sandra especially was always friendly and accommodating, she really couldn't do enough to help. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we definitely wouldn't hesitate to use the company in the future.

Oct 01,2023Algarve Vacation has convinced Trustpilot to remove my earlier (one star) review of Villa Margarita in Carvoeiro. Algarve Vacation considered my remarks to be defamatory, although my complaint to them was supported by extensive photographic evidence. Trustpilot, despite a full third of the reviews of this company also being one star, granted their request. If you look at each of those one star reviews you will see that each one has the same form response, assuring the client that they appreciate all feedback as it helps them to improve. Of course, the customer's complaint is not addressed in any way. I can only say this; be sure you are fully informed before booking with this company, particularly their review policy. This allows only a 48 hour window from the last day of your holiday in which to post a review on their site. Given that they undertake to return your security deposit in three weeks, you are compelled to leave the review before its return. Read some of the comments regarding security deposits and you may form a view as to why there aren't many negative reviews on their site.

Previous review removed Algarve Vacation has considered my earlier review to be defamatory, although my complaint to them was supported by extensive evidence, so all I dare to say is: Extremely bad experience. Villa and equipment in very poor state. No help from staff despite several inquiries. If only 0 stars was possible...
