Jan 06,2024Easy to choose exactly what you want on line including zero excess - system makes it very clear on what you have bought so no extra surprises when you collect the car. Only extra is in N Ireland if you want to take car across the border there is an extra fee.

Jan 06,2024The best experience all round from booking to picking up and dropping off. The only company to have a 7 seater at short notice. We have 2 adults and 4 children we called numerous companies that said you had to book in advance by one month well we needed it in about a week saw Avis which I've used before in London went online and they had what we needed for the dates ..phew ! Luckily as my partner is pregnant (6 child) and didn't fancy having 2 small cars driving around 2hrs from Shannon. So big thanks for that. Then picking the car up was great we've lived in Spain for 3+ plus years and the people aren't like us in anyway shape or form, unlike us and the Irish so we get the the counter (new years eve) and we started having a laugh with the people on the desk talking for quite some time as it's the best interaction we've had in ages, we could of spent new year there.. Lol. Thanks guys. Everything explained perfectly, car was as good as gold as expected from a big company like this. Then the return was equally as easy.. drop off in short stay drop the keys to the desk and done no hassle fuss free.. thank you all..

Dec 31,2023Dodgy company with mysterious charges and bills that suddenly turn up 2 months after services rendered. I just got an additional bill docked from my credit card account with no explanation, no written receipt or invoice, breaching EU consumer protection laws. Sent an email but they take ages to get back to you and their phone service is dreadful. I will be consulting my solicitor to take legal action. Stay away!!

Dec 29,2023Booking online and receiving confirmation of the rental was easy and using the App. is quite good, however there are no features for obtaining zero excess insurance and costs. This can only be done at the airport rental desk. I only knew the costs of what I would have to pay when they e-mailed me the agreement, however as I was driving at the time, I only got the details when I arrived at my destination and was surprised to see the costs. Therefore, I think it would be good to know upfront what the total costs.

Dec 27,2023DO NOT USE AVIS! Reserved a car to collect in Geneva. When we returned the vehicle in perfect condition and full of fuel, Avis invoiced for €120 more than the reservation price with no explanation for overcharging. They won’t respond to emails or calls. Never again. Very bad service and complete RIP OFF!

Jan 27,2024The company withheld 210 euros (including petrol) in debit card at the time of taking the car on rent. It charged for 70 euros for 4.4 hours as there was a small scratch on the car front and they said that is the final amount that they are charging. We are fine with 70 euros being charged because it was our mistake to have scratched the car. But when asked for a confirmation that 140 euros would be refunded in specified time limit, we were told that it is not their company policy to state this in writing. As a consumer, I am worried if that money will be refunded. All that I am asking is a written confirmation that amount would be refunded. Now we don't have proof that it will be refunded and have to wait for 10 days to see if it hitting my account.
