Horrible experience! My MLO went on vacation for a week and I had zero correspondence from anyone at the time I was putting an offer for a home, so I decided to look into other lenders. when he came back I found another home we wanted to put an offer on but no answer from Sam, than my offer got accepted and he randomly texted me saying hey I’m finalizing your approval, after I’ve decided to go with another lender, so I asked him about closing cost and he disappeared again, I haven’t heard from him in 6 days and my loan is in underwriting with another lender. Nightmare of an experience.
There should be negative stars to leave. I started this refinance process in December. Only to be connected with Bryan Unkle and this portal that keep asking for documents which i have made clear to Bryan and Myra my stance. I was told I had to wait until my February 2025 payment was made to do a streamline loan which required 1 month mortgage. Delay after delay... and then being told i ha e to wait until April to close then to get to april and get a call telling me I have to pay 3X the mortgage to close. These people are a complete waste of time and unresponsive to things that require attention. Days, weeks go by without anything and then when I do get a reaponse it's more nonsense. DO NOT ... USE BETTER.COM FOR A DAMN THING
Extremely disappointing experience. I was ghosted not once, but twice—first by an agent and then by a supervisor who was supposedly going to "make things right." To make matters worse, they ran a hard credit check without my authorization, which negatively impacted my credit. After wasting a lot of time and energy providing documents and going through their process, I was ultimately told I didn’t qualify, despite having passed prequalification. This company lacks transparency, professionalism, and basic communication. Would not recommend.
this lender sucks. horrendous experience. the whole mortgage approval process sucked a lot because as a customer I had to do the leg work for this lender. then once mortgage approved they transfer us to servbank for servicing, then servbank sold our mortgage to round point mortgage service, I called roundpoint mortgage and they cant even find our loan. stay away from this lender because they suck really bad.

Led me on for a month telling me I was pre approved and no problems and cleared title and appraisal - then to come back at closing and tell me my DTI was off - I lost the deal - these guys suck… AI my a@@

Just got the keys to our new home. Better Mortgage makes it easy. Tony Song was great to work with, knowledgeable, highly responsive, professional and thorough. I am very busy at work and don’t have a lot of time to mess around and these guys have simplified the process and made it much more efficient than other providers. We were approved in a matter of days. The Better team (Tony & Jesus) were very punctual and always on top of things. They also gave us better rates than anyone else we priced. We had a great experience working with them.
The loan officer and loan processor were an absolute pleasure to work with, always keeping me informed and very knowledgeable about the products and the process. However, their closing agent sent individual cashier checks for the debt consolidation payoffs that we wanted to include and left it to us to individually mail all the checks, which includes researching where to mail these checks to. Very poor experience. I expect a closing agent to disburse to the applicable parties for the fees I paid to them.. what's the point of a fully digital mortgage process when you end up with a bunch of paper checks that you have to manually mail yourself. This is going to add unnecessary delays to my payoffs and cost me additional time and money, not to mention interest charges while snail mail is floating across the country. A better solution would be to allow me to digitally remit these payments from an escrow account or better yet pay directly to each payoff for me.
Excellent mortgage lender experience! The process took about a couple of weeks total time. Very expedient, friendly and professional. The live verification of a credit report item was new (never experienced that with a mortgage lender before) but easy to complete, nevertheless. After all paperwork completed funding took three business days (the total grace days allocated to change your mind, if desired). Overall fast, smooth, and excellent service. Thank you!
The online portal was quite easy. Representative contacted me right away once we started the application. Loan documents and approval was handled very swiftly. Would like it if the payoffs went electronically instead of by check . But all and all, a great experience.
Easy to use process and online interface. The different stages of the home buying process were presented appropriately at the right time came to ensure that the process did not overwhelm. Contacts at the company were friendly and easy to deal with, however the primary agent did go on PTO for a week and it seemed like our loan was not reassigned for that period. Rate and fees beat the competition which is what matters most.

Dyllon and Sanam were a great team to help close our escrow in fewer than 30 days. Dyllon coordinated all the paperwork that underwriting needed to approve our loan. He intervened when overlapping questions from underwriting were redundant. Sanam coordinated closing, including making sure our insurance was recorded. And, all of our documents were ready for closing. I super appreciate the personal attention from these two professionals. I appreciated the quick and timely responses to my questions. And, the attention to detail that these two did to provide me with quick close.
Never leave reviews nor will I but Kody and Jesus have been absolutely amazing throughout the whole process they helped me with everything and have been patient and kind and delivered when needed I would recommend anyone to use them both if I could give 10 stars I would
I found that Better's loan process is flawed. The coordinator are not there when signing take place and the title company they use made several mistakes. Finally, their servicing partner Shellpoint is a broken organization in my experience. I could not open an online account and their IT department has not gotten back to me (its been a week) after Customer Support said it would be 24 hours. I would not use Better again and do not recommend them.

May 01,2025I had a successful refinance before with better. This time is different, I opt-in for one day mortgage and the issue with the system does not understand RSU nor did the human intervene the process to speed it up, which lead to whole process to be idle and they seems to be joggling around different mortgages and aim for volume rather than success rate, I also paid 800 dollars for appraisal which is ridiculous high fee.
