Apr 14,2025Sowohl die Autoabholung, als auch die Abgabe waren wirklich einfach und problemlos. Das Auto war sauber und technisch super. Es gab wirklich nichts zu beanstanden. Ich werde beim nächsten Mal wieder so entscheiden und bei bluecar mieten. :)

At first, it was overwhelming... unpredictable weather conditions, snowstorms, ice, mud... in one word, a real adventure! And let me tell you – we made it! We chose a car, insurance, and then the staff guided us step by step. Apr 14,2025We are return customers to the Keflavik Blue Car Rental office, as we visit Iceland pretty much every year now, and this year likely twice. Every time we have chosen Blue Car Rental, with the no-worries insurance package. And no worries it has been, indeed. We have had the case of a stone hitting the windshield, no big problem. A rental we just picked up had a (not major, but inconvenient) issue - I could simply turn around, go back in, and be on my way in another vehicle of the same class. I've had to call the company twice over the years, once to notify of the minor damage to the windshield, the other time because the Icelandic winter really wanted to keep us there, and roadside assistance was required. In both cases I was able to reach someone without delay, and the problem was resolved in the shortest time one could realistically expect. So far, I can only recommend Blue Car Rental.

Apr 14,2025Blue Car Rental was a breeze for all our rental car needs. They were helpful for any questions asked. When I booked my car, I had gotten an offer for free GPS service. But when I checked in for my reservation online, it was showing that it would charge me for GPS services. I reached out to support and they so kindly and quickly added complimentary GPS to the car as promised.

Apr 14,2025We had a very pleasant experience with Blue Rental. First, car pickup is very easy and stress-free. Car is clean and in very good condition. Drop-off is very easy as well, we experienced no delays/issues. We requested and paid for GPS, but unfortunately it was not placed in the car. When we told them about it, we were refunded right away. This did not become an issue since we navigated using google maps and it was easy.

Apr 14,2025Blue was helpful and communicative. Our flight arrived around 10:00 p.m., but I had checked in ahead of time and was able to get the key from the lock box with no problem. It took me a few minutes to find our car in the sea of rental cars, but after that it was smooth sailing. We had no issues driving the car for our full eight days there. Blue really went above and beyond with the one issue we did have. At one point we pulled over to avoid a snow storm, and ended up in a pay to park parking lot without realizing it. We didn't realize there was a parking fee until 2 days later when Blue contacted me to let me know we had gotten a parking ticket and they were charging us the ticket cost plus a processing fee. Once I figured out which parking lot it was, I explained to them that we were trying to avoid a snowstorm, didn't realize it was a paid parking area, and had never even gotten out of the car, and asked if I could pay for parking retrospectively in order to avoid the processing fee. Instead, they canceled the whole ticket and told me not to worry about it. It only took about 2 days to work the whole thing out over email. It made me feel like Blue really values the safety of their cars and their customers.

Apr 14,2025I don’t usually write reviews unless something truly epic happens... like finding a rental car company in Iceland that’s not trying to steal my soul and gives me a car that can survive a volcanic sneeze. Blue Car Rental is basically the Beyoncé of rental car companies. First of all – it's so close to the airport that if you trip over your own suitcase, you’re practically there. Pick-up? Took me less time than it takes to open a bag of Skyr. Literally walked in, blinked twice, and they handed me the keys. It felt shady... but in a good way. The car? Absolute beast. Not in a "vroom vroom I’m compensating for something" way, but in a "let’s go conquer a mountain and still have heated seats" kind of way. These rides are built for Iceland – gravel, wind, sheep doing weird things in the middle of the road – the car handled it all like a Viking on espresso. Drop-off? I sneezed and they said, “Thanks, you’re good to go.” If you're heading to Iceland and want a ride that can handle everything from lava fields to majestic fjords without giving you a headache, Blue is your go-to. They made me feel like a local, but with better insurance. 10/10 would rent again. Possibly even just to hang out in the parking lot and feel cool.

Apr 14,2025I already rented from blue car several times the past year. The condition of the car was always perfect. The booking platform is very easy and detailed regarding rules etc. The pickup and dropoff are convenient too, both while the office was open (the guys are very helpful and kind), and outside of the working hours as well, with usage of a keybox.
