I realize now that my experience last week with Jamie was just a fluke. She was a rare occurrence...today a tech came out to replace doorbell, and the usual horrible things happened. Here's the story. I was texted asking if they could come today instead of next week. Fine. They said they would text me to let me know the tech was on the way. I never got a text. A man showed up ... showed no ID and I had to ask his name. There was a CPI truck but still I was afraid. I said they were supposed to let me know who was coming. He didn't seem to acknowledge that. He said he would be quick as he just needed to replace the doorbell camera. He left quickly and after leaving I found that the router in my network closet was no longer mounted to the wall...it was just hanging..I found a mess of parts on the front porch and also found that my doorbell camera works..but the doorbell does NOT. I called customer support who said it was not a big deal..I looked under the doorbell cover in my house and there were wires hanging out all over the place. What a mess... looks dangerous... customer support is not sympathetic at all.. I asked for some compensation for this poor experience... requesting that the $100 I paid for this doorbell be refunded for my troubles and long standing relationship with CPI...AND ALSO because now I need to take time off of work for them to come and fix what they did wrong in the first place. The smart alec on the phone said that they would take put the old doorbell back on if that's what I wanted... Now I am hostage to my phone waiting to see if they can get someone here tomorrow...and if not..I'm just missing time from work. Either way I lose as I have to cancel plans I had tomorrow with family and still may need to lose $ for missing work when ever they get their butts out here to fix what the did wrong! >20 year with CPI and the more time you spend with them..the worse the service gets. Last week I found ONE SMART NICE PERSON to help with a billing issue ON THE CPI SIDE... I realize now..that was just a fluke... I would not recommend CPI to my worst enemy. The guy who was here didn't bother to check things before he left. I had to say... can I check it to make sure it works? I checked the camera..but never thought to ring the bell till after he left and I was cleaning up his mess. The customer support guy was 10X--if he said one more that it wasn't a big deal 'the chime isn't working' I was going to vomit. He clearly didn't understand that it IS a big deal about how the whole appointment happened...and the impact of having to have it REFIXED afterwards. I had a working doorbell before they arrived. The rep on the phone doesn't really care... and he made that VERY clear... 'its not a big deal'. .. Horrible..and sadly... the norm..!
Malcolm was my customer service representative and he was extremely courteous, professional, polite and helpful. I have an urgent issue where I had to turn my power off and he immediately escalated it and called me back with an update to let me know someone will be here today between 4-9pm. He seemed concerned and he really wanted to help. He’s the type of employee that customers love to speak with as well as a terrific representative for CPI. He should be teaching customer service classes because my other experiences with CPI haven’t been anywhere near this helpful. I felt good after my initial call today to have someone come out ASAP instead of the November 7th date I was originally given and he helped make it happen! Thank you Malcolm! Your service was greatly appreciated!

I reached out about my situation YESTERDAY. Tyler got in touch with me almost immediately. We scheduled. He came THIS morning and did what needed to be done. Asked if I wanted or needed anything else. I didn’t. He thanked me for being with C. P. I. and was out the door to make the next customer HAPPY.

Great customer service. CSR was knowledgeable and carring of my family safety and awareness of how to use the CPI product.

He went above and beyond by calling and texting to see when a good time would be to assist with updating the firmware push. If there were more Michael’s in the world customer service would hold a new level of standard.
