Sep 11,2024Jonathan from Damp Detectives provided such an insightful inspection of our house with it's multiple damp issues. I wish I'd found this company months ago! They excelled where previous tradesmen were unhelpful. I was really impressed by how thorough the inspection was, with clear explanations about the problems were were experiencing and the reasons behind it, with suggested solutions. Jonathan provided such a fantastic service and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Really well informed guy and he took lots of time to throughly explain all of his findings and teach us a comprehensive amount about how to deal with the damp issues in our (very old) house! I would recommend this company, and Jonathan in particular, to anyone with damp, mould and condensation issues. So worthwhile having the survey done. We know exactly what our next steps need to be.

Needed an additional visit which was arranged without hassle and he advice has been invaluable. Has also been exceptionally helpful and responsive to questions after the report. I'm very grateful.

The written report was detailed and backed up by photographic evidence. When remedial work is undertaken the people doing it will have all the information they need to deal with the problem.

Aug 16,2024What a relief to have finally found a company who provide such an excellent service. We contacted Damp Detectives and the following day Nigel Howarth rang and we had a telephone consultation regarding our damp problems. An appointment was arranged and we were informed that it would take a few hours. Nigel arrived promptly and he spent a long time inspecting our home and taking damp meter readings. He gave us detailed information on what the problems are and how to rectify them. We received a detailed report with photo's and showing room by room where the problems are. We now have everything we need to explain to building contractors the work we need carrying out. Having had several companies let us down with misinformation it was an enormous relief to have a professional like Nigel to help us fully understand where the problems started and how to rectify them. Cannot recommend Nigel and Damp Detectives highly enough.

Aug 10,2024Problem - damp and salt damage to interior walls; suspected chimney stack leaks. Presentation and customer care impeccable - considerate, polite, accommodating. Investigation comprehensive - all relevant areas carefully inspected and evaluated. Feedback very useful and clear - good diagrams and articulate explanations suited to the layman [handwriting idiosyncratic!!]

Aug 09,2024Jonathan arrived spot on time. He was extremely thorough in his assessment of the problem and undertook an extensive survey. He communicated with me as an inteligent human being rather than someone who would have no idea what he was talking about. His explanations were so clear, logical and detailed that I have managed to retain the information. He was respectful of our tenant who was present and explained what he was doing throughout the process. Such clarity and attention to detail is, in my experience, rare when I'm trying to get to the bottom of a problem. Generally people shake their head and say, I'll see what I can do but no promises. I cannot thank Jonathan enough for his clarity and professionalism. I highly recommend him.

Aug 07,2024Bryony of Damp Detectives was so helpful throughout the process of having a whole house assessed for damp. We were considering purchasing an older property, but realising there were Damp issues, we decided to get a damp survey done first to see how bad the damage was. We chose Damp Detectives because the Surveyors are independent and have no affiliation with specialist companies which we found quite reassuring. I met Bryony at the property and she gave me a tour of the building pointing out areas of concern and advising me of the potential cause. She followed this up with a written report and photos. This has been instrumental in helping us to decide whether to put an offer in for the property or not. I highly recommend Damp Detectives.
