Apr 03,2024After having a damp survey done around 18 months ago we've had nothing but issues based on the poor advice given in the report. We were told a damp proof injection would sort our wall, proved to not be the case and after having another damp survey found out this would never have addressed the rising damp without taking the wall back to brick and a membrane put in. Also told damp marks on ceiling were caused by mice/rats wee. Again totally wrong. Work needed doing on roof which was only discovered when getting another person over. Problem would have been smaller if found initially. All we have had since the report has been issue after issue that surely should have been picked up by professional damp surveyors. We've also wasted more money than we should have on the remidial work and the initial survey.

He gave us really practical tips to help us work through the problem, and was very detailed and knowledgeable. He also did all of this follow up free of charge, which was so unexpected. Excellent to get a better understanding of the property and the likely causes of issues, and to be provided with some good pointers about how to fix the problems. no scare-mongering, no teeth-sucking. They're not trying to get further work, they're just providing objective facts. Would highly recommend.

Mar 21,2024Jonny was fantastic: he looks at the house holistically, taking into account how it is meant to work (it was built in 1840) and finds all the causes for damp coming into the house, which can then be sorted. It's the way it should be done; none of the usual, expensive 'you need to damp proof it' sales pitch. He has saved us money and ensured that our house will be dry forever more. Cheers mate.

I phoned to see if he was just late and I was told he had not got me noted down. Wasted my afternoon waiting. Complete disaster. Went somewhere else. William Allsopp

I have a much clearer understanding of damp in my property - especially the role played by the roof space and cavity walls - and what action is needed to reduce make my house drier and healthier.

Apr 24,2024Scott was a really lovely guy and very knowledgeable and thorough. I really liked the fact damp detectives are completely independent as it's so hard to trust trades these days. I found the survey and findings actually really interesting and helpful in order to improve and rectify my home and answer some questions on a few issues I was having locating the causes. Would happily use Scott again if required and recommend.
