Both the engineers were very professional, job well done by them.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Experience with Egg – Quick, Easy, and Professional! I recently had a solar and battery system installed by Egg, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the process was quick and hassle-free, with the whole journey from quote to installation taking less than a month—far faster than I expected! One of the biggest selling points for me was the 0% interest-free credit, which made the investment much more manageable. The team was incredibly helpful throughout, answering all my questions and making sure I understood everything clearly. A huge shoutout to Simon, whose support was excellent—knowledgeable, patient, and always happy to assist. And Harry, the installer, was brilliant—professional, efficient, and he even cleaned up after himself, leaving everything spotless! Egg as a company has been a pleasure to deal with. Their customer service is top-notch, and the entire process felt smooth and well-organized. If you’re considering an installation, I highly recommend them! Thank you, Egg, for a fantastic experience!
You've asked so here goes. Placing order - very easy. Few photos and a couple of emails and was all booked in. Installation- was booked for the 21st of February. Got a call a week before saying could they come and do a first fix. We eventually agreed on the Saturday before. No where did it say and I wasn't told it would take 2 visits to get the charger installed. Which I think is poor communication as arrangements were made to have the day off on the 21st for it to be installed luckily one day was a weekend don't think it's right you have to take 2 days off work for a 3hour install. Then received a call on the 18th of Feb asking to come on the 19th as the engineer had requested a day off. The install went ok. Seemed very rushed. On the second visit the main connection was done and commissioned. The charger connected to the app but no real help or guidance on how it all worked. If your not tech savvy I could imagine it being a bit overwhelming. For the cost it's ok but since then I believe there has been a price increase and don't think it's worth the new additional costs. Overall it's ok. Time will tell what the after care is like.
I decided to install solar panels and a storage battery but was initially uncertain about the costs and potential benefits. Given my positive experience with Egg, who had previously installed my EV charger, I reached out to them again. One of their sales representatives guided me through the entire process step by step, without any pressure to make a purchase. From the outset, I received full transparency, enabling me to make an informed decision. I proceeded with the installation, and Egg managed everything efficiently, keeping me updated throughout. All deadlines were met, and the installation was completed promptly and with minimal disruption. The technicians were highly professional and courteous on both days. The after-sales service has been exemplary, surpassing any I have previously experienced.
Had my charger replaced by Chris which did an amazing work, very profesional . Nessy kept in touch with me through the entire process and managed to schedule me earlier then the initial appointment. Thanks
Purchasing solar through Egg was a simple straightforward process and I would happily recommend them. Did I run into issues, yes some; however, you generally run into issues with projects of this nature. Ultimately the issues were promptly acknowledged, owned and solved; you can’t ask for more.
Nathan did my consultation and was pretty quick and good! Mia was then my project manager and kept me updated all along and helped me with any questions or issues I had. The finance option was amazing as well. So now I hope if I ever have an issue they can also provide support. But it’s been an amazing and quick experience!
I write this mixed emotions as I want to give Egg 5 stars but I can’t. I organised for a battery to be installed at my mother’s house. She already had solar so a battery was the logical next step. There was bit of chasing up I had to do to get the installation date organised but no major dramas. Installation day went well, it was really good, the installers did a great neat, quick, job. The app was installed on my mum’s phone but how it worked wasn’t really explained to her. Not a problem as I could sort this out and get the app installed on my phone too. So far so good, the I started looking at the SOC of the battery which only ever charged from her PV, it never seemed to get over 20%. Not a problem, I could sort that- I moved my mum’s tariff onto Octopus Flux in preparation for cheaper overnight electricity. I then tried to program the app to mirror the times of the tariff. I couldn’t do that as 3 firmware upgrades were needed first, why weren’t they done at installation? Email to Egg to get that sorted. Firmware upgrades complete and now I could program the app but still no overnight charge. Hmmm. Another email to Egg, someone from Egg was looking into it and the crux is after 2 weeks of tooing and froing, still no overnight charge and someone speaking to Solax to find out the problem why. I’m know some of this isnt Egg’s fault, but I’ve had to do a lot of chasing up and the problem still isn’t resolved. The installation was faultless but the after-sales leaves a lot to be desired. I’m sure I will get there in the end but to the average person who wants to do the right thing and take advantage of cheap, clean, renewable energy, this isn't what I would call a smooth operation. I have a good understanding of this technology, a lot of people don’t have and need for this to be done as efficiently and smoothly as possible or it won’t work and the wonder of solar and batteries will be a negative experience and will put people off when we need everyone to transition as quickly as possible. My request would be for better after sales and stress free commissioning of systems.
The job as been done very well.
If you’re looking for a home charger and you’ve been bamboozled by prices and kWh and upfront payments, Egg take all that out of it. Simple sign up, simple choice of wall boxes. Had ours installed within 2 weeks of ordering. And we needed an isolator fitting which they did at no extra cost.
When it comes to selling they are very organised and call you numerous amount of time because they need business from you. Once you gave them a business that’s it their customer service is absolutely worst. At the beginning they were really good I was getting all updates regarding everything until beginning of January. At the start of the order we have been advised that we will have 14 panel system but on 23/01/25 when engineers came to install the panel he said your roof can only fit 12 panels so we asked installer that what about other side of the roof and he said he has to go back and let the project manager know and project manager (Jade) will discuss with you. As project manager didn’t approach me for almost 4days I decided to approach her by phone numerous amount of time and then sent her so many emails no response from her. On 31st January when installer came to install the panel I asked him and he has spoken to his boss and I received a call from Mac from solar and he explained so I said why no one has came back until now because if this is the case then I wouldn’t go ahead with the project so could you please ask Harry sales advisor to give me a call back. Harry did rang me same morning and offered £500 refund for 2 panel which has been disagreed at the end as he said that’s maximum they normally offer because they have to cover the cost of scaffolding and etc. I asked him weather you sell 12 panels or 14 panels scaffolding price is always same so if you have not managed to fit 2 panels on my roof why should I been charged for the scaffolding so he said he will go and speak to his manager and comeback to me by this evening. It’s been 15 days since that conversation and numerous phone call and emails been sent but as usually no response. There is issue with scaffolding which has been already reported by email that also has been ignored. Finally Scaffolding came down today (16/02/25) after left the review but still no response regarding 2 panels. I think I need to take advice from ofgam regarding this issue as lack of communication from Egg.
Great service thanks
It took two attempts to get a dual pole isolator installed and then a further two attempts to get the charger installed. Everyone was friendly and helpful on the phone. Professional and customer-focussed. I think that they are working with a number of small contractors who don't perhaps have the wide reach yet that is needed. The charger works, although I'm not sure how to set it up the way I would like it to.
What a truly great professional company. Made it seem easy from first contact through to final installation. Very friendly, knowledgeable, friendly customer relations (MIA WOOD) through to a friendly installation team that were extremely clean leaving no trace they were ever there. Can only give everyone involved nothing but 5 stars. Well done!
The deal and installation and panels etc are ok but the support afterwards is horrific. Our installation was completed end of November and the paperwork is still not done! Moreover we were promised £100 B&Q card which apparently gets released in batches every month- guess what, still not given it. Think they believe people will forget and not ask for it?! Try and phone them and you get nowhere..!! Emails after emails get ignored. We had also asked for a solar PV diverter which apparently they’re still trying to get the price of… by this time we have found someone else to install that! What a palaver. Update: there’s no voucher and Matt himself emailed me that it would emailed over this month. And I see no response in regards to the paperwork that’s prohibiting us from getting an export tariff!
The installation team were great and this went without hassle. Excellent system and competitive price. The communication around the start of the project and speed of receiving documentation following install needs some work.
I had read mixed reviews about EGG EV home chargers. However, I have nothing but praise for the company. The customer service has been eggcellent (sorry couldn’t resist). My home charger installation was smooth, and it has been great to use. The app is also super useful for scheduling a charge for my electric Car. Highly recommend. I get the full stated kWh when charging. Easy to use with good cable length and reach.
As always communication fantastic. Engineers arrived promptly and even 3rd party which was needed for this. Job completed within 2 weeks of emails. Great service thanks
Very efficient service and the engineers who fitted the charger were polite and nothing was to much trouble for them when I had questions to ask them.
