May 31,2019Having been very disappointed with Curry’s in my search for a replacement range cooker I happened upon Herbert Todd & Son whilst searching the internet. I had no idea they existed in my home town of Harrogate. What a fantastic number of range style cookers and other appliances and you can actually see what you are buying! It has been such a relief and a pleasure to have such friendly good efficient service, from purchase to delivery, to installation and at a competitive price too. The fitters, gas and electric were all arranged and coordinated by Todds how they managed to get our cooker in I don’t know but I love it. I have and would recommend them to anyone. A very happy customer.

Mar 15,2019Our old washing machine packed up after many years of service on a Wednesday evening. Having a growing family meant it was in constant use. I popped into Herbert Todds the following day and dealt with John who was an absolute professional. There was no hard sell, just genuine advice. Within 15 minutes I had placed an order for a new machine and it was delivered and setup the following afternoon. The delivery guys were also decent and genuine and provided a professional service. Less than 48 hours from my old machine breaking down I was using my new one! Would recommend.

Mar 14,2019Ordered a fridge freezer online. Within a few minutes received a phone call confirming my order and asking when I wanted delivery. Delivered 2 days later to suit me in a 3 hour slot. Delivery chaps very friendly and helpful Took away my old appliance and all packaging and fitted new one (extra cost) and gave instructions on how long to leave appliance before switching on. Very impressed with everything. Have used Herbert Todd before and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The atmosphere was always helpful and pressure free, the correspondence around my ordering and their interactions with the manufacturer for my bulk order were timely and professional. To top it off, the delivery team were great and overcame some challenges with a smile on their face. Fantastic service from start to end! Thank you.

Feb 26,2019I purchased a washer-dryer form Herbert Todd at Monks Cross. They were helpful with my questions about which washer-dryers were suitable to purchase as I needed one that could be integrated behind a unit door. The washer-dryer had to be delivered to an address in the centre of York which has traffic restrictions after 10.00 am. They arranged for the delivery to be made first thing in the morning at 8.30 a.m, to avoid the restrictions. I purchased the washer-dryer on the Saturday, and it was fitted on the Tuesday - very speedy service. I was told in the shop that the washer-dryer had a 5 year guarantee. I queried this after delivery as the paperwork with the washer-dryer indicated a 3 year guarantee. They replied very quickly, and it turns out they they were right - there was a 5 year guarantee. All in all, very smooth service and pain-free purchase.

Feb 20,2019If you are looking for traditional helpful service from a well established high street supplier look no further than Herbert Todd. My wife and I recently purchased a Smeg fan oven from the above mentioned Monks Cross showroom and have to say the service, help and advice was superb. Adam our sales adviser answered all our questions in a friendly professional manner, a very different experience to that encountered in many of the large "Sheds"! We would highly recommend Herbert Todd's who are a breath of fresh air.

Jan 29,2019Following on from Update 2 below After the Service engineer called and declared it to be the clock timer, we were promised a repair within 10 days. The engineer arrived two days late and declared it wasn't the clock but a thermostat and that he had no idea when it would be in stock and left. The law states (Consumer Rights Act) that after one repair with a new item you can demand either a full refund or a replacement. After speaking to John at Todd's who promised faithfully to ring me back after he had spoken to the Fisher Paykal rep, We have heard nothing either about the part or from Todd's as to a refund or replacement in the last 2 weeks. It is now time to introduce a solicitor to this farcical occurrence as we have now had a broken cooker as long as we had a brand new one. Todd's have also put the price of the cooker up to over £2,500 which in view of this customer service from both Todd's and Fisher Paykal is totally not worth it.

Jan 17,2019Thank you Herbert Todd & Son for such wonderful service, sorely missing from so many larger companies these days! I placed an order online and rang to see if I could speed up delivery arrangements as I had had no washing machine for several days. I received a phone call back by an extremely friendly and helpful lady within 5 minutes and was offered same day delivery at no extra charge. I was promised delivery by 4pm, having phoned at approximately 12 noon and the delivery arrived at approximately 3pm. I probably paid around £30-£40 more than I would have paid from Currys, however delivery turnaround times were anywhere from 5 to 21 days without any time guarantees. It was worth the little extra for excellent service and I would certainly buy from them again and not hesitate to recommend them to others.
