Completely unprofessional, negligent and incompetent service (York branch). Simple transfer of equity case dragged for 3 months. After paying all the fees as per the engagement and completion letter they send me an email asking for additional £20 in order for them to submit the land registry documents ( bear in mind at this stage they already paid the other party!) Long story short, after they finally submitted the required documents to the land registry, £100 land registry penalty notice due to late tax return submission and no final response from the complaint manager I still await the updated deed from the land registry (I signed the engagement letter in May). Seriously if you value your time, money and mental health you would look for another solicitor. I regret not reading the reviews, before engaging with them, myself ( lack of response, documents with multiple spelling errors…they at least seem to be consistent in providing bad service!)
The team at Ison Harrison made the process of buying our first home very straight forward. They were proactive and generally communicated well. There were a couple of small issues towards the end, but they worked hard to resolve them quickly. Overall we were very happy with their service.
Engaged Ison Harrison to sell my house and to buy a deceased family members home, I thought this would be a complicated process but it went very smoothly. Abby and Rebecca provided an excellent service, kept me up to date throughout, answered all my questions and even gave me a pep talk when I had a few worries. I used Ison Harrison to purchase my first house 20 yrs ago and have also used their will writing service. The final bill was very reasonable too I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ison Harrison and Abby.
Abby Howard was excellent in the purchase of a Buy to Let through my limited company, especially when the completion date was moved up and we had a day to rearrange everything..Abby took the reigns and ensured that everything went through on time.. I thoroughly recommend Ison Harrison
Abby was excellent throughout the process keeping me up to date every step of the way and ensuring that we were able to complete by the agreed date.
Hi- I would like to send my heartfelt thanks to Preeya and Aqsa for processing the purchase of our property so efficiently. They were very informative throughout the process. They are really friendly and empathetic and I would not hesitate to use their service again. Thank you both for making it easy, approachable and hassle free from your end. Please keep on doing what you are doing....5 star service.
Very poor service. Second time using this company, it has not improved. Both members of staff did not provide a service fit for use. They do make simple mistakes. One of their mangers is rude He has forgotten who the client is and who pays his salary.
I’d like to thank the Ilkley Branch with Leashia for a fantastic conveyancing experience with the purchase of my flat . Leashia has consistently been on the ball and quick to respond - and I realise she’ll also have a lot of other properties she’ll be dealing with at the same time . All in all it’s been seamless from the start and I couldn’t recommend her or Ison Harrison highly enough.
Used the Leeds branch and absolutely abysmal. They didn’t complete the work (buying a new build house). Then just ignored my emails. I followed the complaints procedure and was ignored. Continued to raise it, ignored. Baring in mind I had paid the full amount to them by this point. They only bothered to reach out once I complained on social media, at which point I was helped by an efficient and professional woman named Rachel as I threatened to involve the Ombudsman. Never use them.
Do not use. We instructed this solicitors for the sale of our property. Firstly the paperwork was sent to us stating we were the 'purchasers' instead of sellers. Second set of paperwork was sent back out to us, we returned it to the address they provided, which was the incorrect address so they didn't receive it. Third set of paperwork, my last name spelt wrong and I wasn't included in the deeds, only my partner was. Not to mention they advise you to go into a professional body to get an ID verification. Everything is done paper based, despite asking numerous times of documents could be emailed to us so we could easily and quickly electronically sign, this request was refused. Can you believe in 2022 and all that's happened with covid that this solicitors is not able to arrange a 5 minute zoom call with their clients to verify documents? Which by the way, you are legally ABLE to do. A month after an offer was accepted on our house we decided to use another solicitor due to the sheer incompetence. Would never use again.
Shocking communication and rude. Had the misfortune of being assigned Erin Johnston for a will and I had to chase EVERY email communication twice . Curt terse responses and always felt as if I was taking up her time even though we were paying her nearly £3k. Zero sympathy dealing with my fathers loss. Horrid process.
I was am wanting to thank Lucy O and Vanessa in the Pontefract office for their expertise, efficient and friendly way our conveyancing was dealt with. I would have no hesitation in using Ison Harrison Pontefract again or recommending them. Thank you to the team
With the help and support of Harrison, I have managed to purchase a house. Whether it was an easy process or not, I can only said there was there when I need them and they were giving me informations all the ways. Only downside was not be able to have them phone but for they will always respond to my email in time manner. I will definitely recommend Harrison.
Michelle Brawn and Liz Brophy at the Castleford Branch have been handling the conveyancing for my first house. Great communication, great service and couldn't have been a smoother process. No hidden fees. Without any snags, we were arranging completion after 6 weeks.
We sought immigration advice from a solicitor Ben Davison at Ison Harrison. In the consultation he informed us we could apply for a fiancée visa from within the U.K. this turned out to be incorrect. When we asked to be taken on as clients he informed us we would not need a solicitor for this visa. Cut to today when my partner is being removed from the U.K. as the visa has been submitted incorrectly. £5000 and a new lawyer later things are looking up but I would never recommend Ison Harrison to someone else, even someone I wanted to screw over for the rest of their lives.
Took three calls to Ison Harrison just to get a quote for conveyancing emailed to me. The lady who quoted me didn't bother to take my email id when I initially called. Poor communication has lead me to seek services elsewhere.
We referred a client for conveyancing . He was appalled by the service , he had 3 conveyancers, two left, and easy to see why. A lack of communication snd courtesy. When it came time to pay us as an agent they delayed by 10 days. We were told monies had been sent when they had not , and they refused to supply details of the bank transfer. Finally they said they had input incorrect details , but rather than apologising they asked us not to contact them again for daring to complain. Awful company , avoid at all costs.
Michelle Brawn and Elizabeth Brophy have been amazing over the last 7/8 months. We have had the house sale from hell with lots of issues from our buyers solicitor being incompetent. Liz has dealt with tears, frustrations and constant emails/phone calls with the upmost professionalism. My husband and I couldn’t have asked for better service.
Truly awful. Tried to use this firm in the sale of my property. It was clear from the outset that Lucy had no idea what she was doing. She was ably assisted in her ineptitude by Rachel Warsop and Charles Knapman. When I made a complaint directly to Charles he couldn’t even be bothered to reply. Constantly asked for documentation already provided. Email information ignored, Communication was passive aggressive and slow. Asked for documentation already provided, couldn’t get the name of the mortgage lender correct despite being provided with all details more than once.

Dec 06,2022Zero stars would be more appropriate. A truly terrible experience. Rebecca Austin and her secretary were both awful. Unprofessional and unhelpful. Instructions were ignored and calls weren’t returned which meant it took such a long time to complete a simple will. At a very stressful and upsetting time they just made matters worse. Totally lacking in empathy. The worst solicitors ever! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
