I'm in the process of using this firm for a house purchase, I wish I hadn't bothered. Incompetence is an understatement, there's no diligence in their practice. For example, spelling mistakes on the contracts, sitting on queries and taking weeks to answer, don't waste your time with them, pay a little extra and get a proper service.
I would never use these guys again even if they were the last solicitors on earth, id rather go and get qualified and represent myself. Zero responses back from them and only got in touch if they needed something from me, the house has eventually gone through (after me chasing paperwork for weeks and flase promises) but had issues afterwards as apart of the contract theyve drawn up with the seller not leaving the property vacant and theyve just ignored me apart from one response back stating theyd look into it (two months ago), even when going to my contacts manager still nothing back. Worst service ive ever had. Literally avoid at all costs.. im so surprised that companies still recommend this company after all the bad reviews.
I bought a flat and employed them as they'd been recommended to me. My solicitor was very kind and understanding and apparently competent. Everything seemed to be going well. But no mention of a reserve for service charge payments ever came up and, not being a legal expert myself I didn't know to ask. When I was billed for service charge dating before I owned the property I contacted Ison Harrison by phone and by email and my solicitor had gone on maternity leave. Her colleagues initially said they'd look into it and even said there was in fact a reserve so I should be able to get my money back. But now they are ignoring my emails and I'm stuck having paid £266 for a service charge bill that should have been paid by the vendor. Not good enough.
