Jul 03,2024I rented a car via rentalcars.com and payed the fee including full protection insurance. On the pick-up day I went to their office near the Budapest airport, a staff required me to pay extra €300 to cover the road toll , breakdown and full protection insurance. On July 3 I got an email from them. It asked me to pay €150 speeding fine in Serbia during the rental period. Actually I never went to Serbia.

Jun 29,2024Reserved a car through Wizz Air for the first time with our flight tickets. We did not know that Klass Wagon would be the supplier. The car costs and plane tickets were paid with my credit card when booking. There was a problem when picking up the car. My credit card was still valid for 1.5 months and the Klass Wagon employee told me that I would not get a car if the credit card is not valid for at least 3 months. Nowhere in the booking confirmation or the reminder I received by email before departure was it stated that my credit card had to be valid for at least 3 months. It only said that you had to bring a credit card with at least EUR 2,800 spending space in your own name when picking up the car. That was not a problem. A whole discussion followed, during which the employee was willing to give me the car if I wanted to pay EUR 154.00 on the spot and EUR 49.00 for road tax. I felt very cheated because I had already paid the car costs in advance with the same credit card. He also did not want to give back (part of the) money from the reservation. It was now late in the evening and there was nowhere to go. In the end I ordered a Bolt and left for my hotel. Never saw a car again or spoke to an employee. I advise everyone against renting a car here. They make up the rules on the spot and then produce costs that are not known or communicated in advance. It smells like a scam. They will never see me here again.

Jul 12,2024Encore un dernier point : on me facture un forfait pour le péage autoroutier. Alors que j’avais bien spécifié que je ne prenais pas l’autoroute et que je restais dans un rayon de 10km. Comment appeler cela autrement que du vol?
