This is a very rewarding program. You only get out of it how much you put in though. Coaches are very supportive & try & motivate you & give you great advice on food & exercise. My blood tests show this program is working for me & I feel so much more confident with my weight & how I feel now too. I would definately recommend this program.

Since joining in June 2022 I have lost 10kg (I still have a long way to go) but more importantly I am quite pleased with how my relationship with food has changed. The tools available helped me understand how food affects our body & the menu ideas/recipes take the hassle out of thinking of what to have. My coach Lisa has been there for me (during a very hard time in my life too) offering support and guidance in a professional way without making me feel like I have failed or done something wrong. My food choices now are much healthier and I simply feel better in general. This program is NOT a "diet" it is a new way of life a much healthier way.

I joined with Heart Smart Australia 5 weeks ago, after researching into the program extensively, reading reviews, and talking with the team who did not push membership at all to me which I appreciated very much. I was ready for change - I am 53, post-menopausal, so discouraged with low self-esteem, constant weight gain & lack of motivation. I have found that weekly guidance with my beautiful Dietician, regular checking in from the Miyagi Team, and the online app and connection with others on the program has been a major turning point for me. I am travelling in a caravan at present indefinitely so am unable to weigh in weekly, but in 4 weeks I have lost 7 cm off my waist, centimetres off my chest and hips, my blood pressure has dropped, and I know I have lowered my high cholesterol level. I am so encouraged and know that it is through this great program that I have kept up motivation and have hope for a healthy future!

The one on one support with my dietician is great. Love the goal setting. It’s setup to be positive but not a win / loss program rather life changing habits.

I am very happy that I have chosen the heart focus Miyagi programme. I really appreciate the weekly support from my qualified dietician Elly who is fantastic. I have gained so much knowledge, the resource documents are fabulous and the app is very easy to use. I am making changes to improve my long term health and I am so pleased I have done this for myself.

My coach Megan has been great. Megan has opened my eyes to not what I was eating but how I should be eating by spreading my protein throughout the day. This advice has curbed my night time hunger and by doing regular 20 mins a day x 5 days a week mixed exercise I have lost 18cm off my torso with only being on the program for 8 weeks. It’s not about the scale number it’s about how fit you feel, how those clothes are fitting. I have tried many a programs over the years however have found this one so much more educational about not what you eat but how you should eat and would highly recommend to give it a go.

I have been working with Miyagi for years…. For me, it’s about accountability. The program keeps ME accountable to MY goals with all the tools and support necessary for a lifelong journey of healthiness and happiness. The most valuable outcome is the peripheral benefits (healthy and happy role model) that my whole family also benefit from.

I have been motivated and kept accountable. The weekly check ins and weekly goals have allowed me to not only lose 12kg a in the first 3 months but decrease my Hba1c levels from 14 to 6

Better off going to a dietitian face to face. Not what I thought it would be. I thought I would receive better advice on Type 2 diabetes on what to eat and not to eat.

I signed up for the Heart Focus programme offered by Miyagi. It has been transformative. Having a qualified dietician check in every week to act as a health coach, basing her advice on the latest scientific evidence and clinical expertise is life-changing. I suffered a major life-threatening cardiac event prior to joining; this programme has proved to be an excellent continuation of the advice and guidance I received through my cardiac rehabilitation provider. My dietician's advice has helped the whole family. I cannot recommend this programme highly enough - the resources, app and Facebook support group are all wonderful.

A wise man (my late father) once said “no-one can make you do anything you don’t want to do”, which is true except when it comes to ones obligation to self-care if one wants to live a long and healthy life. After decades of ignorance and half-hearted not-really-serious attempts at losing weight, I finally found Miyagi precisely the time I’d run out of excuses not to take ownership of my own shortcomings in self-care. The Diabetes Wellness program was a God-send for me, the digital resources enable me to self-source all I need to understand what I’m doing and why, and the regular calls with my Miyagi dietician keep me accountable. Enjoy the journey this program takes you on - for mine, the results speak for themselves.

My dietitian, Megan is very easy to talk to, it feels like I'm catching up with a close friend. She has great ideas on how to keep things interesting and implement new things into my diet and day to day life. My mindset has changed for the better and I feel really positive about eating and exercise.

One of my biggest learning curves with this program is I have discovered that I self-sabotage my progress, which has probably held me back from achieveing my weight loss goals in the past. I have also found that my mind-set has changed around food, that I can reward myself for a good week/ day without resorting to food, have watched the videos which are very helpful, information about various health issues and how to improve them, and found some great recipes to try. With regular feedback and support from my dietician Kirby, I am achieveing small micro goals which encourages me to keep moving forwards towards the larger goals of improved health overall, even if the weight loss has been a bit slow. This has been significant mindset change for me and my confidence that I will succeed this time. Previously if I had had a bad day I would have given up, but I am feeling much more confident in achieving my long-term health goals. I have added more interesting vegetables and fruits, and explored various recipes. I found the video on Type 2 Diabetes and the Mediterrenean diet particularly helpful and I am now following this type of diet more closely which is also creating a balance in my eating. My Blood Glucose levels have dropped back to normal (fasting) Previous diets would eliminate whole food groups - yes I would lose weight but it wasn't sustainable - I think this is the biggest difference with this program - I now am gaining confidence that I can do this for life not just for a few weeks. As a Type 2 Diabetic with other health issues it is also up to me to do the best I can to improve my life health- I'm in my early 60's and I want to be around at bit longer yet to see my grandchildren grow up.

I’m feeling grateful to be enrolled in heart smart program by Miyagi. Since I’ve started the program I’ve learned a lot about myself and my relationship with food. I’ve been brought up in the Middle Eastern culture the more food on the table the better. Thanks to my Coach Katie I’m learning to be myself and be mindful with eating healthy and moving better. I’ve been on the program nearly a month and I could see change in my attitude towards food such as saying “No” to ice cream and choosing to eat my sweet treat according to my goals if eating sweets 3 times a week. Eating breakfast and supper has also been a game changer for me. Shifting my mindset from a “Diet Mindset” to healthy lifestyle of choosing my portions of all food available instead being fixed on shakes and bars. It’s a total transformation of my relationship with food and life. Thanks again and looking forward to share more reflections on my journey

If you are looking for a prescriptive eating plan you will not get one from Miyagi. Instead, you will be provided with the tools to change your relationship with food for the long term. Having tried so many prescriptive and restrictive ways of losing weight in the past, some with good, but short term results, I am finding Miyagi's approach much more beneficial. My dietitian Grace has been very supportive and encouraging and speaking to her weekly keeps me accountable. I have been focussed on improving my overall health for the past 5 weeks and losing 5kgs in that time has been a positive and pleasing side effect. I have also been able to fit into a smaller pair of work pants than I was wearing 5 weeks ago 😊

The coach was good and the set up was good but nothing for those who have restricted diets or injuries. The biggest kick in the guts is that I have Bupa and had budgeted to get the reimbursement but you only get invoices for 6 months (coaching time) but the payments go for 12 mths and they don't tell you that so I am basically paying double what I had budgeted. I won't be referring anyone.
