Phoned up today to book my free boiler service. I explained that we had suffered a gas outage in the local area and that my boiler would need resetting. It was a simple 5 minute job. They refused and said I would need to pay 60 pounds ( my excess) for someone to come out and attend to it first. Given that my family and I have been part of the UW family since 1997, I was a little disappointed to say the least. I couldn't fault the engineer that came out ( I almost felt like I was wasting his time) but the customer service agent who dealt with me wasn't particularly helpful or knowledgeable. The fact I am now 60 pounds out of pocket, despite the fact I pay for boiler cover AND am entitled to a free service ( the service engineer would have easily been able to reset my boiler for me), isn't great.
I spoke with Jasmine today and she was very polite, clear in her explanation and helpful with my query. She rang me back within the time she stated and organised and secured my re visit engineer without any problem. Lovely young lady
