We have decided to use Purple Bricks to market our house. Heather Hall came to meet us and value our house - she was very friendly and honest and gave us confidence in our journey with them.

George Andrews has been a breath of fresh, his knowledge of the property market is extensive and he has assured me in multiple property sales and I wouldn’t think of going anywhere else. Top work.

Our property viewing experience was facilitated by Joanna Marchewicz in November 2024. Joanna was highly professional, responsive, friendly, and helpful. During our first visit to the property Joanna gave us plenty of time and space to get the most from the viewing. She was very well prepared, extremely knowledgeable about the property and was able to confidently answer several of our questions immediately. Joanna is also very approachable and has kindly facilitated a further visit for us and also for our surveyor during the conveyancing process. Purple Bricks operates differently from traditional estate agents so the post offer process is handled by a central ‘progression’ department. From our perspective as buyers this has been less positive so far, but we cannot fault Joanna and the viewing process.

The representative from Purple Bricks came over, gave us a valuation perfect within the market, was nice, helpful and very professional. We are looking forward to putting our property on the market.

We paid upfront for the service and from the start I felt I was constantly chasing and effectively doing their job. If I hadn’t chased constantly or spoken to the buyers of our house myself then we still wouldn’t be sold stc. It took 4 weeks to go from accepting the offer to getting our memorandum of sale and could now mean we don’t move in before stamp duty prices rise! Poor and unclear communication was the main issue and also it being an 0800 number with no local branch numbers made it hard to speak to anyone; queues on the phone up to 15 people and the line never budging! I personally will not use them again and would not recommend. Dissappointed.

Purple bricks was polite friendly but charges were more than local estate agent who would fo all the visits for us.

The purple bricks agent was a no-show for a valuation despite contacting me to advise he would be 45 minutes.

Basically if you want to or not you have to chase up everything at every stage of the process. I will never again sell a property with Purplebricks. I doubt whether I would consider buying a property if it is up for sale with Purplebricks 🤬🤬

Would have been better to have spoken to someone rather than messages when your putting an offer on a property

Bought by Strike for £1 because they were in such a mess. Loved Strike. First person that came round was a "manager" who went on to say that Purple Bricks has bought Strike (liar), all PB staff had been asked to "run the show" as Strike were "bloody useless" and a "bunch of cowboys". Odd way to open a conversation about your business and one that recently acquired you. Came to realise her was saying all of this as clearly the order had gone out to get more money out of all of the Strike customer who'd been there during the transition. They wanted extra fees, wouldn't honour simple parts of the package like RightMove Premium etc. We challenged all of this straight away with a representative from Strike who said it doesn't make sense and all previous agreements would be honoured and said he'd reach out to the PB area director to find out what is going on. After days of chasing our "manager" from PB he finally picked up the phone and feigned shock at our result of not having to pay extra stating "you'll have to explain how the hell you got them to agree to that". All trust had gone by this point and clearly just PB cowboys trying to make some money. It then got worse from there. We got included photos with Strike and then it happened again.... we had to have new ones taken with PB for some bizarre reason which they didn't explain and then tried to charge us for them, despite the fact they were included with our Strike package. I was angry at this point as I wondered how many other people this was happening to who just paid up. It's criminal. We've then had battles over the length of contract. Due to all the issues we were offered more time, "as long as you want" from the area manager. This then recently turned out to be another complete lie as they "have no record of saying this" and just offered us 3 months. In summary you have the "cowboys" of Purple Bricks now running Strike, who either shouldn't have touched PB or cleaning house of all the reasons they were failing in the first place. I understand they wanted the PB brand reach but put your own good people in... You can't trust anyone, even if you're told the trust on an issue you've been lied to that often you question everything. Seems to me that investment that's come in has instantly bred a climate of targets across the board and killing the business. Or they've got some real idiots in there. The final gripe, it's their app. It works when someone actually uses it. For example, if I want to view a house on PB I have a few choices: 1. Get the app and book and talk to the owner directly. 2. Ring PB and book it with them. If they take option 1 it's works well. You can talk directly with the potential buyer and organise viewings etc. If they choose option 2 (which the majority do), you're notified through the app of a viewing request, you can accept or decline, or write a message. But (quite unbelievably) the recipient can't receive the message. So you accept a viewing time - they don't know you've accepted. You reject a viewing time and suggest another - they don't know. You write a message suggesting they park somewhere or explain a bit about the property - they have no idea. Whoever it is, a lot of you I suspect, who hasn't picked up on this you really are out of your depth. It's one of the simplest issues and you ignore it. Or don't care, as once someone has paid the money that's it for you... no care. We've got your money. Your decision to use them and I warn any buyer off them that comes for a viewing. Quite a few have some good war stories to tell or them too which they've either experienced themselves or you hear "oh God we didn't go with them because...." If only we knew.. Final note is, shame for Strike. They were brilliant. They should have let PB go by the wayside and invest in their own branding and outreach. I knew the acquisition was a £1 for PB, which tells you everything with all their liabilities, but it was a £1 wasted.

The “good” reviews on here are fake. Go on Facebook or other websites and read what actual people are saying. They are awful, literally a scammers, they promise you to seek your house for the best price in no time and as soon as they get your money you can forget about them. If you don’t want to loose your money avoid at all costs
