Feb 15,2022Ignored emails, ignored phone calls and voicemails. Phone calls ringing out and no one ever picked up. Asked simple questions about how the case was going, do you have all the information etc. And nothing. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. The case handler was as much use as a chocolate tea pot (Charlene Hickman). Had all sorts of other Solicitors from the company replying on her behalf so God only knows why they would employ someone with that customer service. All in all a really crap experience with R&R glad it's finally finished so don't have to deal with them. Don't touch them with a barge pole!

Feb 13,2022Shocking! 2.5 months and they have done nothing! You have to call and email constantly to get a response. When you do get a response it can take up to 5 days and then they request the same information you have already sent! They have taken so long on our remortgage that the seller of the house we were buying has passed and now we are having to wait on probate. I wouldn’t bother complaining they don’t reply to that either! Good luck anyone having to deal with Russell and Russell!

Jan 24,2022We have bought and sold property several times but I can honestly say I have never experienced such an appalling level of service. The transaction was fairly straightforward, the sale of our property to a cash buyer with no chain either way. The solicitor handling the transaction, Paul Boardman, seemed to take the view that communicating with clients wasn't part of his job. E mails went unanswered, he never once answered his phone and completely failed to keep us updated with progress. If we sent documents he asked for, they were never acknowledged. When we finally got a request to come in and sign contracts, it proved impossible to make an appointment because the phone wasn't answered. In the end we went in and camped in reception until eventually he came out. Dealing with property can be stressful. if you want your stress levels to go through the roof then use Russell and Russell. If you want a great level of service, and good communication, go somewhere else.

Jan 07,2022I feel like this company is paying some of the few reviews they have on here to say good things about them because I have an ongoing remortgage with them and I can agree with the majority, this firm is absolute shambolic, zero communication, case handler is never available, first shes not taking calls, next shes got COVID, her assistance never answers the phone, they never respond to any emails, this has been going on for 1 month already and reading everyone elses review i am in big trouble as the vendor of the property im buying is about to pull out if i cant give them a completion date. can the few people who managed to get a great speedy service from them give us a tip on how they managed this please.

Dec 22,2021I’ve spent the afternoon in tears due to the pure stress and anxiety caused by this absolute shambles of a company. I honestly don’t know where to start.. I can sincerely state, in the whole of my life I have never, ever, dealt with such an incompetent company. I had the misfortune of being introduced to Russell & Russell, via my new mortgage company for free legals. Their opening email sounds very promising. You’re lead to believe your transaction will be ‘fast paced’ Their website states they’re available 24/7. During my remortgage, which is currently up to 5 months, I had one period of five weeks whereby having called & emailed numerous times a week for an update regarding my case, I had, not one single response. Subsequently my case was passed around maybe 6/7 different staff, never to be seen again. The only glimmer of hope you may have for any form of respect, response or customer service is from Kelechi H. Maduakolam. The phones are never manned. Their voicemail is always full. Expect to receive short, rude, irritated responses to your emails if you’re lucky. I’m absolutely astonished how Pepper Money still commission this absolute circus to work on their behalf when they themselves have proved incredibly efficient. This has been the worst financial experience I have ever endured. Frustration, stress, tears and anxiety in abundance. My remortgage was supposed to complete (for the third time) on the 23rd Dec, the funds haven’t even been requested and the ‘solicitor’ Charlene Hickman is now OOO until the 4th Jan with the supposed final completion date the 29th Dec. Horrific ordeal. Absolutely avoid.

Dec 01,2021Leave this company we’ll alone if your in a hurry took three months just to do remortgage. They don’t answer or return calls in box always full so cannot leave messages, and you have to duplicate and resend documents. They lost two passports with documents with bank details etc on but found them two days later when I hit the roof. Lee is the only person who seems to be on it. I’d never use these again it was only because my mortgage company wanted to use them. Sorry but total waste of time

Oct 27,2021What an utter NIGHTMARE this company is. Ignored. Misadvised. Had to BEG to be answered yet totally and utterly ignored at every turn. Called shouting about Ombudsmens and finally got Lee who was fantastic (thank you LEE!) but the Conveyancing team are useless. I have been in property for much of my adult life, working with countless solicitors and this is the worst experience I have ever had bar none. Unless you want sleepless nights and TOTAL frustration (and then be charged for it) I would go ANYWHERE else. No one answers emails or the phone. Maybe they are woefully understaffed..... As I type they are refusing to pay me £1195.00 due to money laundering discrepancies (that do not exist) but in fact they have already paid me it. I give up.

Oct 14,2021I’m absolutely shocked at the service this company is/has provided .. how there are still in business I don’t now !! I’m unfortunately dealing with them at the moment for a remortgage.. and the stress they are casing is unreal ! They completely ignore you, No replies to emails, calls , enquiries NOTHING ever!! And they LIE. I have no idea what’s going on and my Mortgage offer ends in days and I will have to start the whole process again! Utterly shocking and discussing service and needs to be taken further. DO NOT USE THEM ..for you own Sanity !!!

Oct 04,2021Big thanks to the Conveyancing team headed up by Zoe Harryman for a painless, methodical and pragmatic approach to my house sales that was complicated by a unilateral notice previously applied to the property. Throughout the process I dealt with Kelechi Maduakol, who took everything in his stride and kept me informed every step of the way, even given the frustration of dealing with the Land Registry at these trying times. Near completion he even called me on a Saturday morning to inform me that he was having a couple of days holiday and that he had passed my case over to one of his colleagues for this period. Excellent work..... Hopefully Zoe authorised his overtime :-) .......

Sep 30,2021Cant agree more with all the other comments, building works deylayed because no one there ever gets back to us. Lenders should be aware of using this firm as their solicitors, we have been now waiting 5 months due to no one at Russel and Russel actually careing...

Aug 10,2021Contacted Russell & Russell about verifying a will copy for me. Judith Bromley replied promptly and made an appointment for me to call in. They only charge £5 for this service and the fee is donated to the local hospice. Judith also answered a query for me while I was there. It's left me with a very positive view of the firm, particularly as a family member was charged £100 for a similar service, elsewhere. Very helpful. Thank you to Judith

Jul 02,20213 and a half months in to buying a property with these people I’m constantly being ignored for weeks at a time. No date in sight. When called into the office I was told I could go elsewhere! Then told me when busy they only deal with highest value properties!! This is one of the partners too (ST) beware of these guys!

Non-chain house transaction took over 6 months. everything took them a age to action and it was impossible to get though to the solicitors when you did get though it was to a snotty nose assistant awful service avoid at all costs!!

Jill agreed to assist us our with our house purchase at very short notice when other local firms had turned us away. Jill ensured our strict Completion date was met on time and cannot thank her and the team enough. We would highly recommend the firm !
