FAO of Chakra and Top Level *UK* Management It's been many weeks since 21/07/2024 since you have illegally taken £700 from my wife's credit card when we didn't confirm that we wanted to go ahead. You have come up with excuse after excuse when we rang many times to get our money back. We have been warned by the credit card company that your most likely a scammer which seems to be the case as you have failed to refund the £700 when we ring you. 100% your parents would not approve of your illegally activities and your associates too. Don't take the wrong path in life, as justice will catch up with you and you'll be jailed. Awaiting reply if you are actually going to refund the £700 otherwise my wife's credit card operator will do a forced chargeback. Sunny ------------ A reply from Chakra 13th August 2024 "we encountered an issue with our system that affected the availability of refunds... We appreciate your patience and understanding. We expect to have your refund by 17th August" My response URGENT FAO TOP LEVEL UK MANAGEMENT In the whole world 🌎 a payment machine does both types of transaction - take money and refund it. Your staff is taking us for fools (fat chance!). What's happening is your sales personnel are stealing most likely all your customers money for a month and putting it in a high interest account before returning funds (and I doubt that will even happen as we will still have to get our credit card company to do a forced chargeback). It's also dodgy that the sales personnel said he can't refund to the original payment card and needed OUR PRIVATE BANK DETAILS!!! Our bank has never heard out such a thing and stated ALL legitimate companies can do refunds to the original card and furthermore, they stated, only scammers would ask for private bank details. I know TeleText holidays no longer have UK staff and now outsourced to India (scam capital of the world). I have high assumptions that A) This is done without top level UK managements knowledge, and B) This is prolifically done by all sales personnel as standard (but highly illegal) practice so that they can pocket extra money and C) When they give a FAKE excuse that they can't refund payment to original card and ask for private bank details - they illegally sell this details on the black market locally in India. I mean come on, it's 2024, what legit company asks for private bank details, answer, ZERO! Teletext holidays needs to get a UK independent body to do a thorough and in depth investigation (i.e. going undercover) to uncover all these illegal activities. I remember back in the 1980's and 1990’s Teletext on TV; Teletext had both a good reputation and it was a joy to book. Everything is now the polar opposite and you need to keep up with the times where LIVE prices for holidays are listed on your website and are easily booked ONLINE and not by calling Dodgy sales personnel. Overall in 25+ years of booking holidays worldwide, this by far, has been the worst experience ever and no doubt we've definitely been scammed out of £700 of our money. To anyone reading this. AVOID AT ALL COST BOOKING WITH TELETEXT HOLIDAYS.

I rang and was misled over the hotel. I have ended up in a hotel not fit for a dog so therefore am not going. One sales rep was arguing about the reviews despite many being one star and some doubtful ones being five stars. Google Empire Hotel Aqua park and you can see many fake reviews. That's nearly £2k down the drain. I tried to cancel within the hour but was given the run around. Constant promises of someone ringing me back but never did etc. My 13 year old daughter is devastated but the hotel is awful and I can't afford to go and book somewhere else. I know the cost of flights and there is plenty of money for alternative, safe accommodation but now they have my money, they aren't interested.. unless I have another £500 of course. Not the Teletext I remember. Will now have to start a civil court claim to try to get my money back. In the middle of this, I also lost my father so this whole experience has been horrendous. Will stick to easyJet etc in future. Edit: they offered a measly refund of what I paid to move hotel (£200) but at the same time I was successful in claiming back £900 through section 75 via credit card. Don't think Teletext realised this when they offered the £200 refund 🤣

Avoid like the plague. Crooks at best. This is NOT what we all remember as Teletext. A bunch of crooks brought the name.

Iam just another customer who didn't get money back from this company during Covid. THEY kept everything from all customers!!!! And now they back hunting for more victims...avoid!!!!!

Avoid at all cost they never refunded me for my holiday when covid was here I lost £1700 this happened in June 2020 not 2023 I was unable to put the year down

Truly Travel (parent company) and Teletext Ltd have been liquidated. They avoided giving refunds to customers during COVID and kept the money - check Companies House records. I’m shocked the website is still trading in 2024. DO NOT USE them.

Cannot understand how this company are still allowed to trade !!!! My holiday was cancelled due to Covid which I completely understand, however it took over 18 months to get my money back. Shocking customer service with little or no response to emails. Went to the court only to be eventually told that Teletext traded as Truly Travel and that they were in administration. Finally approached my insurers through my bank for help and they refunded the money. Avoid at all costs, another example of a company continuing to trade under a slightly different name in order to shirk their obligations.

Absolute scammers! Just writing this review to make people aware of these lot! As I used them previously. I dunno how tf people are still using these scam artists it's beyond me! They were all over the news for conning thousands of people especially thru COVID and then declared bankruptcy and gone into liquidation just so they didn't have to pay anyone back! They will accept your booking take your money but there will be no flight or hotel booked in your name! And they will make up hundreds of excuses cut your calls off put u on hold for hours, give u fake names numbers and emails to contact! JUST AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE

TeleText Holidays I payed large deposit just before lockdown and continue to pay instalments for a trip to Crete with two of my friends, reason we kept paying for the holiday was so that if it did get cancelled (which it did) we would get our deposit back but we were wrong teletext holiday stopped taking my calls and stopped replying to emails and stalled until the time passed to go through credit card route and had told me that there was a back log in refunds which is understandable but in the end go no refund of couple of thousand euros and they even claimed the flight money that Ryanair had refunded so didn't see a cent back they are corrupt and I wouldn't take a chance to book with such an agencie.

Absolutely disgusting company! Cancelled my holiday “due to Covid”. Applied to get a refund of the £1500 I’ve already paid towards the holiday for them to ignore my request and after speaking to a few people on the phone the then told me if i want my f*ing money back go through the banks” then hung up. They owe me £1500 still to this day

This company has gone bust and good riddance! The worst firm I have EVER had the misfortune to encounter. If you're still owed money, pursue your bank, as I had to in order to be refunded over £4000, 6 months after my 2020 holiday was cancelled and I still hadn't received a refund. I can't tell you the hours I spent on the phone to these clowns who fobbed me off over and over and passed me from pillow to post. My last dealings with them I told them they were headed for liquidation after the way they treated people's money and I'm over the moon that they got their comeuppance. Absolutely delighted. I warned whoever would listen never to deal with them. They actually told me bare faced lies on multiple occasions. Couldn't be happier they've gone under. Book with a reputable company. For me it's jet2 all the way.

Booked a trip to New York through them for January 2022. In the months leading up to it we had to contact them 4 times as they hadn't sent any documentation through. Eventually this was received, 2 days later we were notified that our flight was cancelled... It took a further 5 calls to get info on new flights, and for details to be emailed to us (again!). During this week saw some of the reviews online about TTA leaving people in the lurch without hotels/transport etc, so decided to call both the hotel & shuttle companies directly to confirm details. Without surprise neither had any records of us. We got back on to TTA and they kept telling us it was all booked, but despite numerous requests l, they never sent any confirmation of these to us as requested. Due to all the hassle we decided to book another room at the same hotel near Times Square, and found our own shuttle company to take us too and from the airport. This proved to be a smart move as when we arrived there was no sign of the other company at the airport, and upon arriving at the hotel there were no other rooms booked for us except the one we had made. Had we not paid out over £600 of our own money on top of what we paid to TTA, we would've arrived in the US without any transport from the airport arranged, nor any place to stay! Of course here we are now in January 2023 and still had no money back from TTA, nor even an explanation as to why this was allowed to happen. Utterly ridiculous. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they ran tech support scams out of the same office.

Absolutely awful!!! Booked with them as they had the covid insurance didn't stick to it at all. When it went to Amber in Greece has to move for a fee. They cancelled our transfer back with no warning then didn't answer the phone refused to sort it. They was very rude even though they was in the wrong so we had to spend alot getting back to the airport. I had used them before and didn't have a problem but this time they really was awful. I would avoid them at all costs.

I booked an holiday in October 2021 been cancelled by teletex with no reasonable reason they only said to fill the refund form and I would have had my money back within a wee, all the due refund forms filled but still waiting for refund June 2022after 8 months , tried to call them several times but no reply. Left it to the credit card company, still waiting.

The holiday season is coming so I just wanted to warn everybody who consider booking with Teletex holidays to not do it. This company is working like scam. I did book with them 2 years ago and I am never going to book with them again. Horrible experience!!!
