I ordered a Dimplex Burgate opti mist electric stove quite expensive but alot cheaper through About Living The service from ordering to the delivery which was free may I add brilliant !!! Exceptional professional cannot praise them enough And lastly the stove is beautiful
No problems with the ordering and delivery schedule. The main issue being getting the ‘wall mounted fire “ into the house. The delivery driver left the 34k package tied to wooden pallet, at the front of the house.
I am currently in the throes of trying to get nearly £800 back for an elderly lady who asked me to order her a gas fire. The first fire turned up but was the wrong flue type for the fireplace. Gas Superstore said they could get the lady the correct fire by the end of March but would need extra payment as the fire was more expensive. They said they would collect the original fire when the new one was delivered. I had a right job getting an updated invoice when the extra money was paid. As several people have commented on different review sites this company appears not to want to leave a paper trail. (hence why they never reply to emails) When it became obvious that we wasn't going to get the new fire and that the company was stalling for time I cancelled the order and asked for the first fire to be collected so that the lady could have a refund. I asked on the phone that they made sure the lady got some proof of return when they collected the first fire and was assured she would get paperwork. I just didn't trust them so decided to get some back up proof for the lady. On the day of collection I made sure I was there. I videod the whole thing much to their courier's displeasure so that if she needs it I can supply footage of the conversation and of the fire being taken away. I also took the vehicle reg number so that they couldn't deny it was one of theirs. Good job I did because guess what...no paperwork for the lady and no refund as of yet. I've been in to the bank with the lady as she is partially deaf and needs assistance. The bank said on what they have been told they wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't become a police matter given the extent of what appears to be "irregular" trading practices. I have seen a picture of the MD on the plane jetting off on one of his many many expensive holidays. He poses for the camera swigging what appears to champagne from the bottle with another one by his side. He should have choked on it. It says the company is a family business run by a second generation. If the founder is deceased he must be turning in his grave. If he isn't he must wish he was because the toad he left it in the hands of has no scruples and is lower than a snakes belly. The MD is no more than a disgusting, dishonest, crook end of! It is welcome news that Trading Standards have now got involved. Hopefully the police won't be far behind!
Paid for goods and not received them. Got rid of my cooker the day the new one should have arrived, a month later I'm told to claim my money back through the bank. Furious!!!
I recently placed an order for a fireplace on the 5.3.17 for £751.99. The fireplace was too big for my chimney breast so I asked for a similar one but smaller. I kept getting told it is not being dispatched by the manufacturer and it will take 7-10 days, like this they played around with me for 3 weeks. I was speaking to A man who never bothered to call me back, gave the worst customer service. It started becoming a nightmare so I cancelled my order and had them pick up the fireplace that first arrived. Since then I've been waiting for my refund which was promised to be with me 3-5 working days. I've still not received my refund and don't know what to do as this is the worst company I've ever dealt with. I then spoke to another colleague who supposedly was the "accounts team" but he ofcourse wasn't. He turned out to be unhelpful and rude, he was not even willing to listen and tried to overtalk and hang up at any excuse he could. After many calls and a frustrated customer he finally emailed me I will get my refund back, but clearly nothing is happened and it was all talk again. They're are a bunch of frauds, they place you on hold for 20 mins and if you ask to speak to a manager they ate never there or are unavailable beginning to think, do they even exist.. I'm really stuck... just want my money back!!! I really wish I never bought from here. It's been so stressful, just want to put it behind me and move on. I'm not surprised the company has gone bust, its such a shame they still don't learn. How can you sleep well after taking so many people's hard earned money.... disgusting :(
Ordered v. expensive BBQ on 24th April, took money same day and confirmed delivery date for yesterday. Emailed to ask for ETA to then receive a generated reply that they were in "financial difficulties". They knew this when they took my order & money but never made any reference to this situation - robbing b***** ! Luckily paid by paypal so hope to get reimbursement, but I will reporting this company to every ombudsmen! The favourable reviews for them must be from fraudulent employees. STEER WELL CLEAR!!!
It is an undisputed fact reported by the Leicester Mercury Newspaper that the owner of the Gas Superstore set up a new limited company under a different fireplace company name on the 21st March 2017 registered to the same address as the Gas Superstore which then went bust on the 25th April 2017 which he has admitted to but says was unrelated. Please draw your own conclusions about the timing of setting up this New company and whether the demise of Gas Superstore was premeditated or not?
For those caught up with payments made against non-delivery, I hope this helps: I had paid by debit card and referred the matter to my bank on Friday, 28 April. HSBC have a 'Disputed Transactions' team which can be contacted by ringing the card enquiries number quoted on the back of the card. They were able to confirm the company had ceased trading on Tuesday 25th April and agreed to credit the amount owing. This was back into my account on Tuesday morning, 2nd May. All they asked was that I keep any correspondence that may be used to verify non-delivery should GS decide to dispute it.
Having placed an order in February for a gas fire I was advised that the LPG jets that I required were not available, when I asked for a refund I was told that the jets had just arrived and would be dispatched shortly. when the arrival details were not sent to me I checked again to be told the gas fire had been damaged at the warehouse and we were promised a new gas fire on the 3rd May. I have received not such text to say it is in transit and I suspect all the excuses were merely lies due to the company's financial position. What a FRAUDULENT COMPANY. JRH Yeovil. 3rd May 2017
I ordered two gas fires from them at the end of March. They took the money (454.10) on 4th April and gave me a delivery date, which they kept postponing by a week. I looked at the reviews online and cancelled the order. They promised to refund my money and said it would be in my bank account within 5-7 days. As it was over Easter, I allowed a bit more time but kept checking. They announced they had ceased trading on 27th April. They did not reply to my email and Leicester Council, Leicester Chamber of Commerce and The Leicester Mercury don't want to know. I think it is despicable that they can get away with it, especially as they appear to be an established local company with a big shop front. I have contacted Citizens Advice Bureau who are currently investigating the matter for me.
The website is still taking orders and money but the seller, thegassuperstore, does not respond to emails or telephone. The building address at which they claim to be is for let. According to Google,(search "gas superstore leicester") its states permanently closed DO NOT BUY
Do not buy anything from these rip off merchants!!! They're allegedly experiencing 'financial difficulty' but are still taking orders, money and arranging (fake) delivery dates. Avoid at all costs, wish I had!!!
Placed an order a month ago. Contacted me to say there was a delay in delivery. Called myself today to be told they are having financial difficulties and ceased trading and that I will not be receiving my order. And they are not refunding the money. Disgraceful and unacceptable.
basically took my money then sent an email to ask me to arrange delivery on a wrong number - when i found the correct number there was no way of contacting anyone on the automated message. I sent an email which i then got an automated reply to which said they were experiencing financial difficulty and couldn't fulfil orders. I find that hard to believe they didnt know that when i first placed my order and at no point did they contact me to let me know
many missed delivery dates !!! now been told ive lost my money as the company has stopped trading
They took my order & money, knowing that they were going under. Very unhappy, as I have to wait 15 days after transaction date before I can claim from my credit card. Because this is a fitted oven, I had the old one removed in readiness, so now have no oven, and no money to get one!
I ordered a Siemens fridge which was delivered a couple of weeks ago. One of the glass shelves was broken when I opened the packaging and the fridge door was dented. I called straight away (barely an hour after delivery) and although the customer service was closed, someone from their sales team was helpful and told me to email her so she could pass on the issue to customer service. Two weeks on, chased and sales person assured me this was escalated to managers and still no news at all. To top it all I now received an email stating they stopped trading! I am now left with a damaged item... unhappy to say the least...
The gas superstore accepted our online order and took our payment 5 days after it had apparently closed!!! Waited in all day for promised delivery, failed to respond to calls etc. Subsequently found out from local newspaper that they ceased trading on 19/4/17. Wish we had known on the 21st when order was placed!! Very bad practice.
