Nov 05,2024I spent 2 weeks doing the medical programme in Tanzania. I had a brilliant time, the staff at the hostel could not help enough and the medical programme was definitely eye opening. I would definitely recommend The Mighty Roar, the whole process was so easy and the UK team was very responsive to any queries we had whilst booking and leading up to the time away.

Nov 04,2024I had the best 7 weeks on the healthcare programme in Ghana. The hospital and its staff where so helpful and welcoming to me, they were also super flexible so I could spend time on different wards and departments, and I even got spend a day in the school and see what the childcare/teaching volunteers got up to too! Dinah and the local team were amazing! They were always around for a chat, games, shopping trip ... and really helpful if you are unsure about something, and fast at responding to any message or questions you have when out and about. I would wholeheartedly recommend this programme to anyone who is interested :)

Nov 04,2024What a fantastic experience for my 14 year old daughter and I! We were on the street dog and sea turtles programme in Sri Lanka. We learned loads and experienced what life in Sri Lanka is like. We had loads of opportunities for travel and experiences and went on safari, visited some of the sights and beaches, surfed, cooked and paddled, and visited an elephant project. The staff team were welcoming and helpful and we had a blast with all the other volunteers who did not seem to be put off that I was much older than most of them. We had a really memorable experience! Loved feeding the street dogs, and felt amazingly privileged to have released some baby turtles and seen a turtle laying her eggs! Feel really thankful to have had the opportunity to experience this with my teenager! Thank you TMR!

Nov 04,2024I loved my month doing childcare at TMR Sri Lanka. I made friends for life and got to experience true Sri Lankan culture with Ayomi and her family. The children made me smile everyday and miss it already !

Nov 02,2024An amazing hands on experience, although it is hard work and long hours it is so rewarding and definitely once in a lifetime. Mighty roar were so communicative throughout and helpful with any questions I had, they also sorted a transfer for me straight from the airport. All I will say is if you want a relaxing trip this may not be for you! But definitely worth it!

Nov 01,2024I spent 3 weeks in South Africa as part of the Africa animal experience. I stayed at Amakhala and it was the best three weeks ever. Nicky and Justin are the best team and make everyday fun and interesting and would always make sure they made our experience the best they could. I can’t wait to go back and visit them at some point in the future!

Oct 29,2024I was at Amakala game park in South Africa for 3 weeks. The team looking after the volunteers is great. Monday is a community day with the kids which was really special. Fridays often is an excursion. Expect up to 2 hours of manual labor for 3 days a week, during October a lot of our focus was on pruning trees off tracks etc. Most of the time we were monitoring various species on the park. An amazing time. Accomodation is perfectly adequate and very safe, don't have too higher expectations is it a small town.

Oct 28,2024I recently went to Cape Town, South Africa for 6 weeks to volunteer with the childcare programme and can honestly say it was a much better experience than I ever could have imagined. It was very well organised, I had contacts before and during my stay to ensure my safety and reassure me the whole way through. Kevin did an amazing job at arranging my project and I am so grateful to him for placing me where he did because I made incredible connections with the children, parents and staff at that specific daycare who I will keep in touch with now I've left. I would highly recommend The Mighty Roar to anyone who is looking to step out of their comfort zone and do some travelling while volunteering too.

Oct 20,2024I had the best 4 weeks in Ghana! From booking the experience to being met at the airport by the team once we'd landed, the whole process was smooth & easy (I would say sort your visa well in advance!). The team were great, it was well organised throughout & any issues we had were sorted quickly out there. The village around the accomodation and the surroundings were so lovely with the beach right there. It's affordable if you want to eat/drink out on the weekends/evenings, a few different restaurants/bars/hotels to try for both Ghanaian & 'western' foods! The team at the hospital were so welcoming, we rotated different departments each week but it was easy to dip in and out to whatever you wanted to see or experience - just ask!

The company went above and beyond to look after the volunteers and make the experience as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The local team were lovely and always so helpful. Would totally recommend.
