Feb 02,2025I had a fantastic time in Ghana. Dinah and Francis are absolutely fantastic hosts who really looked after us all! When I had troubles with my airline they were so helpful! I would love to come back to spend more time in Busua! Thank you for having me! I would absolutely recommend going!!

Feb 02,2025I spent 1 month in Sri Lanka at the mighty roar and I LOVED IT. I was anxious about feeling homesick but the team are amazing and always check on you. The accommodation is decent, it’s modern bathrooms and comfy bunk beds. It definitely became my home for my time I was there. Rooms are cleaned once a week. Only downside was the food as it’s quite repetitive, but if you like curry’s etc youll be fine! I’m just very picky. It was so hard to leave, as they all became my family.

Jan 31,2025We recently completed the four week medical elective experience in TMR Sri Lanka. We had the absolute best time and felt so supported by the TMR Team. Charith, Thaksi and the team were so helpful and were available day and night if we had any troubles. They also helped organise trips for us and activities throughout our time. The accommodation was lovely with regularly cleaned rooms, AC and comfy beds. The placement itself was well organised and very easy going. I would a hundred percent recommend the TMR Sri Lanka experience to anyone.

Jan 30,2025I spent 2 weeks in Ghana teaching, and am now nearly at the end of 2 weeks of sea turtle conservation in Kenya, and I couldn’t recommend either programme more! They are both very different and amazing in their own ways, the local hosts in both places were amazing in the way they looked after you and made sure you were ok and having a good time. An unforgettable experience!

They also included extra activities for example the floating markets and a great orientation of the local area. Winyoo was very friendly and always very responsive and helpful!

Jan 24,2025What an amazing trip!!! The mighty roar in Sri Lanka has been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! Thaksi, Mamu, Charith and all his wonderful family and all other members of staff at TMR Sri Lanka have been so friendly and helpful , they are all super accommodating and are always there to help with whatever you are stuck with. They all do so much for the community and the local street dogs , their work is amazing. Also a special mention to Karu who runs the bar next door- best cocktails ever!! The location of the accomadation which is opposite the beach is just beautiful. I can not recommend this trip enough it has been amazing thank you all so so so much!!

Jan 24,2025Thank you to everyone who has helped make our expierence amazing. Nothing has been to much. We’ve loved all the trips and the Nursing placement was a good opportunity and the other roles look as amazing. Sharif and Thaski do a lot for the community and animals and have helped so much with us also adopting a dog and taking her back to the UK. Not forgetting Kuru and his bar which we’ve made some great memories in. I would recommend Sri Lanka Mighty Roar to anyone!

Jan 18,2025I Stayed for 2 weeks on a medical project. Thank you so much to Charith, Thaksi and everyone that runs the project for making me feel very welcome. It is definitely a home away from home. The team are so helpful and very quick at dealing with any questions and help if needed. There is lots to see and do if you want to take part but equally its ok to just stay and chill at the beach across the road or pop to the local town during your rest time. This trip really gives you an opportunity to experience life as a local oppose to a tourist which is a real eye opener. I highly recommend the hill and country tour this was my favourite trip with Mr Mammou who always takes time to check in and make sure your ok. Although all the staff are just amazing.. Thank you so much for this unforgettable experience x

Jan 18,2025I took part in the volunteer and travel experience (2 weeks) and had a truly fantastic time. The volunteering was ran by Charith, Thaksi and co, who were some of the loveliest, kindest people I have ever met. They always went the extra mile in trying to organise some wonderful excursions (e.g. meditating at a temple with a Buddhist Monk, surfing, jungle walks etc). Their willingness to go the extra mile was much appreciated, and hugely rewarding. The 9 days travel was a fantastic way to see what Sri Lanka has to offer. We travelled to a variety of towns and locations, with multiple cultural stop-offs. Mr Karu was a pleasure to travel with, always telling us historic and cultural facts with a smile on his face. I would whole-heartedly recommend taking part in the experience, with so much on offer. Thank you Charith, Thaksi, Mr Karu and all of the wonderful TMR staff who made the experience so incredible.

They are so kind and go to great lengths to make sure everyone is happy. I cannot praise them all enough. The travel element was also fantastic and Karu wanted to make sure we experienced absolutely everything. I will recommend this trip to everyone! Thank you all.

Certainly one which I will never forget. The team are so helpful and very quick at dealing with any questions / help needed. There are additional trips arranged such as visits to temples, kayaking, boat safaris which were brilliant. This trip really gives the opportunity to experience local life rather than the tourist side. Also very humbling and eye opening from medical side. Thank you all so much.

Jan 17,2025I had such a great time staying in Sri Lanka with Charith and his family through The Mighty Roar! I stayed for two weeks on the street dog programme which was absolutely life-changing, I’ve gained so much perspective and I’m so grateful to have experienced Akurala. The team organized some great weekend trips, I went on the Hill Country and Safari trip which was so cool, got to experience different areas of the country and any issues I had were resolved super quickly. The team is very on it with dealing with anything you need. I’m vegan as well and was very well accommodated for, with options every meal and at every restaurant we went to. The location is great as it’s very easy to get to nearby places, the team organized little day trips like surfing and kayaking which were so much fun. The accom is also right across the road from the beach, so very easy to go for a swim! The volunteering schedule is not too intense and I had more down time than I expected which was wonderful and spent exploring mostly. I honestly had a great time, made some lifelong friends, and will forever be recommending this experience to anyone.
