Surveyor came yesterday re possible damp. Talked me through the issues. Very helpful and nothing was needed to be done now but told me the signs to look out for in the future. Matthew was very polite and I was really pleased with him.
Timberwise fixed our problem and made made the building safe and secure for all tenants - they noticed all the problems that others had chosen to ignore and they made our building safe and secure for the future. Thank goodness for their willingness to show a duty of care to their customers. Cant thank them enough for their integrity, hard work. Timberwise are an excellent company and I highly recommend them. Norman worked with us and re-assured us all the way through and we are grateful for his expertise. 5 star review well deserved.
Had our basement damp proofed by Timberwise, seemingly a good job. This year I suspected the chipboard flooring had become damp. After having to rip up an expensive solid wood flooring I found a 2m section had essentially fallen apart having absorbed water. Further investigation found significant gap between the floor membrane and wall foil. The chipboard, touching this gap had, over the years, soaked up the moisture. I asked timberwise to come out, which they did. Tim took a very long time to get back. His view was that because the guarantee was out , "any concerns with workmanship should have been raised within the guarantee period." my fair and reasoned view is that this is a straightforward case of poor workmanship from the start and the failure was occuring from day one. For anyone who has recently used (or considering) timberwise, then they expect you to find a way to inspect the damp proofing a day before the guarantee runs out - madness. I was prepared to meet timberwise half way in terms of cost, but they do not want to know. I have strong recorded evidence of the poor workmanship, so will sadly have to go down the solicitor route to resolve. Kind Regards
This is our first home and when damp struck we were a bit worried as it's not something I've come across before and it seemed to get worse and we didn't know the source - I contacted Timberwise after seeing great reviews and I'm glad i did! Ella E who i spoke to initially was quick to respond and got the ball rolling and then Elaine K who i spoke to during the booking process/quote acceptance was again very fast to respond and answered every question I had in detail. Peter M, the surveyor who came to look at the property and knew what the cause was straight away and again explained everything to me in detail. The quote was sent through within days and everything was booked quickly. We have just had our work finished off over two days by technician Russ C. Russ was a very friendly bloke from the get go and very easy to talk to (i didn't want to disturb him too much and felt awful i couldn't keep him stocked up with cuppas and food due to covid). He took me through what he would be doing before he started and took me through every step as and when he did it which i thought was brilliant and really helped me understand the work done. He was very tidy, cleaned up after himself and has done a great job, couldn't have hoped for a better person to come work in our house. Something that may seem quite small to some people but this damp has really caused us a headache and worried us over the last few months and we're really glad we used Timberwise, thank you to everyone we came into contact with through the whole process as you were all fantastic and made this a lot easier.
I have just used Timberwise to deal with a rising damp problem. From start to finish the whole process from the Nottingham branch has been excellent. Mike who completed the work did a fantastic job. He was incredibly hard working, friendly and very knowledgeable, arriving on time every morning and cleaning up after himself. Can't recommend enough!
Really pleased with services by Timberwise. Price for Damp and Timber Survey very reasonable. Excellent customer service when booking in, surveyor was very pleasant and helpful (answering any questions I had), survey report sent very quickly and quotation for works is less than expected. Overall great service and should my purchase proceed to completion, I will definitely instruct them to carry out damp works.
We suspected we had rising damp on internal walls in the hallway of our house built in 1904, and Timberwise were recommended to us by a local architect. Their surveyor came to the house and did a full inspection, followed by a detailed report outlining the areas that were affected by damp and the suggested solution. We had envisaged floorboards having to be pulled up so a lining could be put down, but instead, the injecting of a special silicon solution at floor level was the answer. The wallpaper had to be removed to a height of 1 meter so the technician could hack away the plaster, having removed the original skirting boards. He then installed the liquid damp course before replastering using a special plaster which would prevent the damp returning, and replaced the skirting boards. The work is guaranteed for 20 years. We were highly impressed by every aspect of dealing with Timberwise, from the initial survey by Emily through to the execution of the job by their experienced technician, Steve Wade. We would thoroughly recommend this company if you have an issue with rising damp.
My dissatisfaction with Timberwise is that the website statement of a free survey is a lure for customers to gain initial contact, but the free survey is unlikely to apply. I called Timberwise today following reading their website offer of a free survey. I already have an independent surveyors report and know what the damp problem and fungal growth in my house is and I know what treatment is needed. I need estimates for the cost of treatment. I understand that the surveyor's time must be paid for, after all I have just paid a surveyor for half a day's work so I know the cost of this! But on calling Timberwise today I found out that the free survey that is advertised is not free; restrictions apply to the free survey which of course exclude most types of survey. It is very disappointing that a company employing professional people use the marketing tactic of a free survey. I know I have to pay for treatment of dry rot and it will be expensive but do not appreciate being lured with a promise that is not going to be met.
From my initial contact by telephone through to the completed works we have been very impressed with the service provided by Timberwise. All appointments happened as arranged from the surveyor to the technician and issuing of the guarantee. The technician was very thorough and tidy, he also explained all his findings and some slight adjustments to the initial planned work. Timberwise seems to be a very efficient and effective company. Polite, helpful with excellent communication.
My technician Ryan K was super friendly, arrived bang on time and was really helpful. Once he was done with his job he took me around the house and showed me what he had done. He did a fantastic job! I would definitely use Timberwise again. Ryan K 5 stars!!
The staff were helpful from the very beginning, on the phone and in person. The damp technician turned up on time, did a good job and was polite, tidy and communicated well. I would definitely recommend Timberwise to anyone needing damp work at their property.
Excellent experience. Moved in to a first home. Old Victorian house survey showed some damp. Independent contractor from Timberwise Uk Leeds came for a damp survey and sorted out a date for repair. We’re fast and efficient and left no mess. I had timber treatment and wall mesh done. Staff on email especially Elaine Kelly we’re always prompt on responding to queries. Overall a lovely experience.
Very pleased with our experience with Timberwise. Had some issues with a failed DPC in our house; Alan the surveyor came out, explained everything honestly and provided a helpful report. Steve the technician was polite, tidy and showed us his work as he went. Also very good communication from the office staff; it was easy to book in for both the survey and the treatment and they got back to us quickly. We thought the price was fair for the work carried out.
Dean from Chatham branch carried out a survey on my utility room and was great in telling me about the damp in the walls and what needed to be done. Dave from the Chatham branch came to carry out the damp proofing in the walls in my utility room. He turned up on time and was very communicative and polite. He did a great job and made sure everything was left clean and tidy. I am very pleased with the service given from Timberwise from start to finish. Highly recommended!
Hugely disappointed. Had some works carried out through a builder (sadly went into administration) in 2019 and Timberwise did all the tanking. It seems though that their ‘guarantee’ isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. There is an issue which needs fixing as water leaking through into basement. They have put a quote in for more works and included that this extra work doesn’t have guarantee protection (although the previous guarantee means nothing). Everything was signed off on original works from Timberwise at the time yet sadly as their mistake has been highlighted they will only fix it at an extra cost. Strange way to go about working.
Ryan K. from the Sheffield branch came to carry out some repairs in my cellar. He turned up on time, he was polite and did a great job. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Ryan and Russ who took up our old dining room floor (room 12ft x 12 ft), rotten from damp and woodworm, and laid a new one. We're very pleased with the results: clean, level, firm. We were particularly appreciative of Timberwise fitting us in so quickly after the survey that revealed the problems. Of course, the test of how good the floor is that it lasts well beyond the lifetime of the 20 year guarantee (after all, the original floor was laid in 1936) but since we'll be long gone by the time a comparable period has elapsed, I can only say that, at this point in time, I believe we have got good value for money.
Surveyor explained it all thoroughly, and Ryan, who did the work was very polite and helpful. He did an excellent job and left everything very tidy. I would highly recommend.
Dreadful, had work that was not needed. Standard of work was really poor. Called them out and they said they were happy with the standard of their work. The problem is still not sorted out which I employed them to fix in the first place.
