Mar 13,2023Villa Gamboa – The perfect getaway As I write this review, I am sitting on the couch inside the villa enjoying my last day before heading back to reality again. I absolutely fell in love with this property, especially the outdoor space. Perfect space to play games, to rest or to have a dinner party. An enormous pool that sits in the center is the perfect spot for a sun bath. One of the local representatives came to give us a little welcome tour around and advised about a boat tour to the Benagil Caves. We ended up going just for fun and the feedback couldn’t be better. Also, I want to give my thanks to Olivia as she was the one that conducted all my booking from the beginning, my requests, my transfers… everything. Always available to help us with everything, at any time.

Mar 12,2023This was my first time booking a Villa with AlgarveVacation and I highly recommend it. I was a little bit concerned as we landed in Faro in the morning and the check in was after 4pm but the staff handled everything with great care. They have provided a place for us to drop off our bags while we wait and even had what they call a check in center with all the facilities like Sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, hairdresser and even a nail technician so we don’t get bored until we can step in into the Villa. We choose Villa Praia because of its proximity to the beach as the kids love it and don’t regret it at all. This house has spectacular views over the ocean which for me is a huge plus. We booked our transfers also with this company and the driver (Miguel) gave us the best advices about the area, played our favorite music and was engaging all the time.

Mar 12,2023We were looking for a new and big Villa in Albufeira for my sister wedding as we are a big family and so we found it. I found Algarve Vacation online and decided to give it a look and enquiry for some of their properties. Their customer service couldn’t be better. We got an answer for all of our questions and concerns. We were able to host all of your guest either inside or outside which was great. This company also provided our transfers roundtrip to the church! Very much recommended.

Mar 12,2023We have booked for a family holiday, and it was indescribable. All the pictures match with the reality. We arrived at night so we had to order a Food Pack where we had a chance to choose from different options for our arrival, we also requested the jacuzzi and pool heated and all worked very well! Everything was very clean and organized when we arrived at the property. They have a team available 24/7, local representatives to help us including handyman for any assistance. We are in our way to Oporto and we hope we have a similar service there to finish our vacations how we started!

Mar 12,2023A big thank you to Algarve Vacation that took care of everything regarding our amazing holidays from the moment we were looking for a villa until our departure. We are a friend’s group that comes to Portugal for a relaxed holidays and to explore. The property was amazing, we booked “Allgarbe” restaurant through Algarve Vacation, and the fish was so fresh and the waiters so nice that we booked twice! They have recommended a Sevilla tour by Atlantis Tours and was stunning the way we come to visit Portugal and also visited Spain! They were so helpful during all of our stay that we will recommend to everyone we know that wants to came to visit Algarve. We have booked the transfers also with them and on the way back to airport, we just want to go back!

Mar 12,2023Beautiful Algarve This was our first time in Portugal, specifically in the Algarve and we loved it! On the way to the airport now and already thinking in coming back. We were super well welcomed into our rental Villa, Karen was super friendly and always ready to give the best advices on where to go, what to see and what to do. She also recommended us the Allgarbe restaurant in Portimão. The place is stunning and the food was delicious. The house itself was very suitable for our needs and had all the facilities in a short walking distance. The kids loved the pool 😊 the difficult part was to take them out of there. This holiday was a blast and I couldn’t be happier with it. Will definitely book for next year.

Feb 28,2023Awful Company It became obvious from the start that this company had no regard for customer service. They seemed more interested in pushing boat tours than making a comfortable holiday environment for guests. As other reviewers have suggested I'm pretty convinced "Olivia Grimes" does not exist. When I've asked to speak to her I've been told she only emails. Having paid €200 to have the pool heated, we arrived to find it unusable despite me specifically emailing the mysterious Olivia to ask her to make sure it was a usable temperature when we arrived. My two little grandsons were devastated that it was so cold they couldn't get in. When I told the company about it their response was that the heating had been switched on 48 hours before our arrival and the pool would only heat to 4 degrees above the air temperature. Utter nonsense! They said they'd send someone out. They never did. In the end we figured out how to override their timer settings and by the end of the week it was fine. All the appliances we plugged into the kitchen kept fusing because the plug socket was faulty. To be fair they did remedy this pretty quickly. Hence the two stars. The pool cover hadn't been put on. It was filthy and falling to bits. There weren't enough towels or bedding. The place felt shabby. Three days after we returned I asked where my €1000 breakage deposit was, to be told I had to wait for two weeks to get it back! After yet another email exchange they did refund the deposit in full. I suppose I've been fortunate in the past having mostly booked accommodation with private owners. Its such a shame. Algarve Vacations have spoilt this beautiful villa. We had many happy holidays there when it was owned by the previous owner. This trip was a for a particularly sensitive event and I really wanted our friends and family to have one more lasting memory of a place we loved. This company has ruined that. I will avoid this Algarve Vacations like the plague from now on and would advise anybody else to do so. Update 26th September 2023. Seven months after my original post. Algarve Vacation finally responded. Hmmm..... Interesting. 🤔

Nov 19,2022Lovely time in Algarve. The beaches and sights were incredible. My sisters and friends booked a villa with Algarve Vacation for my "Last Night Before Mr. Right" and surprised me with a huge villa with a great wide pool, very clean and well-decorated. Olivia was amazing, she booked us transfers and dinner at a place called Allgarbe and the food was so good. Never tried portuguese food before and I can tell it´s way better than the one we have at home! Portuguese wine is so tasty, worth the try. The weather was great so we spent some time in Marina, great to do group activities. Memorable time.

Nov 10,2022A big thank you to the Algarve Vacation team, specially Karen who helped us a lot with our 1000 questions (sorry about that) but was always polite and available along the process, I appreciated that. We were a group of 12 ladies celebrating a friend´s anniversary away from our husbands and children. We wanted to have the most fun on our first time coming to Albuferia. We booked a villa only 5min car from the strip and the old town and had an amazing time getting to know this city day and night. We want to come back every year from now on. We also did a boat trip with Atlantis Tours. We booked through Algarve Vacation and was so beautiful, the caves and Benagil cave were gorgeous!! The crew was 5-stars, Atlantis Tours and Algarve Vacation making our best memories together.

Nov 10,2022Booked a Villa, boat trip and transfers for my family, all with Algarve Vacation!! They have it all and it was so organized and easy, my wife didn´t believe until we arrived to Faro. Driver was waiting for us, very polite and attentive. The villa was huge, so beautiful and spacious with a great pool. The beds and sofas were extremly confortable. Middle of the week we had a boat trip with Atlantis Tours, a transfer took us to the meeting point and back to the villa after we ended one of the best experiences we had as family. The guides were so knowledgeable and the caves were so unique, very fun activity to do. Next time we will try Allgarbe Restaurant since capitan spoke so well of it and recomended us dinner there. We spent a really incredible time, thank you very much.

Nov 10,2022Our last time in Algarve was 3 years ago, before Covid when everything was normal. I confess that I was a bit worried about traveling again since we stayed at home for such a long time. We found Algarve Vacation with amazing villas and apartments to rent. Olivia from the email department helped a lot with everything and was always sweet and attentive, which made a huge difference. She booked our transfers as well from the airport to the villa and returned, so we had every step organized by this company for our holidays. My family and I were so excited and couldn´t wait to start enjoying our time. When we arrived at the Villa, everything was as expected, well-decorated and very clean. The pool was amazing, the children were obsessed and overall everyone spent a lovely time and relax a lot. We were all sad to leave but will surely come back in the future.

Oct 12,2022Good things: the villa was fine, location wasn’t great but not bad. Arranged transfers from the airport, although there was some confusion on arrival, the driver was good. Pool was good, needed a couple more loungers though. Bad; a couple of people from the company turned up unannounced. Ten days after we left we were informed there were three damaged items; a salad bowl, a plastic kettle and a sun lounger. Pictures were shown of the lounger and kettle but were not date stamped. Nobody in our party has any knowledge of these issues, from the pictures you wouldn’t notice the damage at first sight. After some back and forwards they withheld €158 so they must have been replacing them at Harrods not at the pound shop where they were originally bought. Also a wallet with €30 was left in the property but there was no knowledge of that when we later enquired. We travel as a group every year and have never once had to pay for any breakages prior to this. None of us would book with this company again and it is up to the reader to decide if these practices are what you want after you return home from holiday. Also you can’t leave feedback on the actual website unless done in the initial 48hrs which is very unusual.

Oct 11,20228th - 12th September 2022 Let me start with the good things...The Villa (Bahia) in Albufeira was an excellent place to relax for 4 days, it was spacious, comfortable and clean with a great pool and less than 10 minutes to the Old Town or The Strip in a taxi. Now the bad things - We booked our stay via Vrbo then continued with the booking via Algarve Vacation Ltd, initially the process went smoothly, we paid the deposit, we paid for the transfers, the breakage deposit (of 700 Euros) and paid for a food hamper. You pay them (Algarve Vacation) directly with a 2.9% fee on top, all of which needs to be paid in advance. Upon arriving back after a day or 2 I sent an e-mail asking when our breakage deposit of 700 Euros would be returned, I was told it wouldn't be too long but can take up to 2 weeks, I left it exactly 2 weeks, the deposit had not been returned so I chased it up again and was told that there was a delay due to some damage to the Villa and they were currently obtaining quotes to replace 3 items, namely a sun lounger, a kettle and a salad bowl! Now, there were 8 of us stopping in the Villa for the 4 days so I contacted everyone to see if anyone knew of any damage they'd come across - perhaps someone had inadvertently dropped something ? In the meantime I went back to Algarve Vacation and asked for photos, eventually we got a photo of each item which I forwarded onto everyone in our party. The kettle had a broken lid - I specifically remember the kettle being like that as I used it on the first morning of our stay but thought nothing of it as it worked just fine despite a bit of plastic missing from the top, we definitely didn't break a sun lounger so we again assumed it was like that when we arrived and as far as the salad bowl goes none of us even knew where it was located - I can assure you that 8 lads, all in our early 50's weren't preparing freshly made salads each day! Needless to say we were not happy about this, we asked for a date/time stamp on the photos so they could prove when they were taken, surprise, surprise, they couldn't... In the 4 weeks since we've returned I've been back and forth with e-mails trying to get answers and a right to respond which has proved to be a time consuming and ultimately hopeless process. The ultimate slap in the face was the fact that we left 30 Euros in a wallet and a load of coins on a unit in the hallway (we left it for the cleaner) I asked if this had been received and was told that there was no sign of it anywhere!! Let's just say that somebody, somewhere isn't being honest. This spoilt what was a great holiday break which left a very bad taste in our mouths. We eventually received our deposit back minus the 157 Euros they took to replace the 'damaged' items. I see that you can't leave a review directly on their website after 48 hours, I wonder why that is... I also realise that there are many positive reviews on here for the same company but all I can do is make you aware of what happened to us and leave you to make your own mind up.

Oct 10,2022I booked villa Marrakech for our family group, and later I found some negative reviews on Trustpilot, so I was a bit concerned. However, everything about our vacation in September was great, from start to finish. Communication was easy and prompt. The villa itself was exactly as described, and right in the middle of Carvoeiro, with great restaurants all around, and just a short walk from the beach. Pool heating and a cot for one of our toddlers were provided as requested. All the employees we came face to face with were very nice, including the young lady who looked in on us a couple of days into the rental, another young lady who exchanged our towels mid-week, and the pool maintenance crew. Mindful of some reviews that mentioned problems with getting security deposit refunded, I waited to receive ours before submitting this review. Well, I didn't need to worry. The refund was promptly issued on the date that was promised, to the card that I had used for the booking, without any action required on my part. Maybe we got lucky with the villa we picked (I assume that the villa owners would have something to do with the way it's furnished and maintained), but our experience with Algarve Vacation was wonderful, and we will use them again. Yes, they do try to guide you towards restaurant reservations and boat tours, but I can't blame them for trying, and it didn't affect the quality of our stay.

Oct 06,2022Be prepared to be fined 2 weeks after you have vacated the premises for items you have(allegedly) broken..we stayed at Villa Bahia for 4 nights Sept 8 - 12. A salad bowl noone used or knows where it was stored was 1 item along with a kettle & a sun lounger. Nice rip off for the villa concerned...DO NOT USE this company unless you are willing to give up some deposit on fictitious 'DAMAGE'

Sep 28,2022To anyone thinking of going to Villa Paraty in Corcovada using Algarve Vacations DON’T let me explain our experiences: We arrived there first impression was wow what a beautiful villa but after a few minutes it was clear that what we saw on the website when we booked was far from what we had. There are two many things to list them all here are but a few: 1. There was an issue with the cleanliness of the pool and a faulty pump seemed to be the issue it was a week into our stay before this was finally fixed and we felt comfortable to get in the pool. 2. Integrated fridge freezer had been removed from the kitchen units and was free standing in a small room of the kitchen which was dirty and smelt of urine. 3. The bed linen and towels were old and grubby with no colour coordination as shown in website picture. 4. The table tennis table was just destroyed and dumped in corner. 5. The kitchen & BBQ lacked the basics for even the basic cooking 6. Walking around the garden we found it was littered with rubbish and up to fifty cigarette butts. 7. The decking was loose with many screws sticking up and one of our party cut their foot. 8. We reported several cockroaches and ants everywhere. 9. In general lots of missing, broken and dirty items to vast to list everything. I have many pictures of all these issues as proof also emails admitting to these issues. The reaction from Algarve Vacations in all honesty was first class they started to send workman round to fix the issues from day one but obviously that in itself was a disturbance to our holiday allowing workman in and out of the villa. We requested a refund they offered us €200 off our next stay at the same villa as though we were ever going to go back to this villa. They did take us out for a lovely boat trip and meal as way of saying sorry which was very nice of them but in no way fair compensation for the issues we were confronted with on a stay that cost us around €4700. We later found out from neighbours that this was nicknamed “Party House” because it was generally rented out to groups of youngsters who sometimes doubled the allowed occupancy. It is probably why this villa was not maintained to the level it should have been. So as I mentioned it is our opinion that you should stay away from renting this villa and using this company based on our experiences.

Apr 06,2023If I could give no star I would PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. I used them via Airbnb and 3 days before we were due to fly cancelled the holiday stating villa was in a bad way. Surely you would check before you advertise it. We had to find new accommodation in the space of 24 hours. Flights and holiday dates had been booked months in advance. The company was very rude when I called, not understanding why 3 days before a holiday a group of 6 adults and 7 children would be upset about their accommodation being cancelled. No apology. Sent an alternative Villa which was smaller and had no pictures. Very bad experience. PLEASE AVOID.
