Credit card not working obliging to take more than 300€ additional insurance, some costly clausus not mentioned in the reservation contract, lenghty and not diligent service…. …additionally reacting to the comment from AVIA below, which is reiterative standard response which has nothing to do with the problem. A demonstration that the company do not have any interest in feedback or Customer satisfaction !
The office is 50 meters from leaving the arrivals lounge. Easy to find. The staff were great and helpful (Erica) spoke brilliant English and did all the paperwork with ease and checked the car without any issue. When returning the car it was easy and straight forward. No dings or dents from me and the Staff member knew the car inside out. The car was meant to be a VW Golf and I got a Kia Xceed which is a like for like. 5/5 from me.

The employee at the counter was very arrogant. When we tried to block the deposit of 1100€ on my credit card, my card was declined. I then gave him another credit card, which was a credit/debit card. He didn't want to accept the card and refused to try to block the deposit using this card. He insisted that I take out the insurance of 160€ and that I should pay it because he didn't want to accept the card. I paid the fee of 160€ with the same card which he refused to accept for the deposit. I have already rent a car in Spain with the same card without any complications.

Wie Avia mit konstruktiver Kritik umgeht, lässt sich auf trustpilot recht gut nachvollziehen. Grundtenor: Wir sind uns keiner Schuld bewusst, der Kunde ist Schuld und verantwortlich. Kundenfreundlichkeit sieht natürlich anders aus. Jetzt aber zu meinem Fall oder eher dem Fahrzeug im fragwürdigen Zustand. Der Anlasser funktionierte nur sporadisch und die Bremsen sind bei Hitzeentwicklung mindestens fragwürdig. Ich gehe mal davon aus, dass es kein typisches Fahrzeugverhalten ist das Fahrzeug in Parklücken schieben zu müssen oder zum Anlassen anzuschieben. Der Knaller ist dann aber, wenn der Mitarbeiter im aggressiven Ton anruft und erklären möchte, dass das Fahrzeug anstandslos funktioniert. Vielleicht sollte er das Fahrzeug mal im Alltag wenigsten ein paar Kilometer fahren oder eher anschieben. Der nächste Kunde wir ihm das Auto sicher danken. Mit uns ist übrigens kein Mitarbeiter zum Auto gegangen. Das spart man sich bei Vollkasko ohne SB. Aber Service ist das natürlich auch nicht. Die Erfahrung beziehen sich auf Gran Canaria, auf Teneriffa waren die Erfahrungen eher positiv.
Highly recommend Avia, they were so easy to deal with from the start and were always available to answer any questions i had along the way Avia were also extremely flexible. The car provided was safe and comfortable. 10/10 service. I will definitely use Avia again.
Ich bin äußerst zufrieden mit der Anmietung eines Mietwagens bei Avia Rent a Car. Der Mietvertrag war wie gebucht zur Abholung vorbereitet. Der Mietwagen war in einem sehr guten Zustand und top gereinigt. Die Rückgabe des Mietwagens war nach kurzer Zeit erledigt. Zwei Minuten nach der Rückgabe erhielt ich eine E-Mail, dass mir die Kaution zurückerstattet wurde.

They managed to ruin our experience in Croácia. terrible company acted in bad faith to make more money. It may be cheaper but in the end it will be more expensive. We received the car at night and despite taking photos it was not possible to see the wheels. They charged us 175 euros for a scratch that was already there! As we had no way of proving it, we had to pay. I’m so desappointed!!! You better don’t choose this rental company.
The car was in good shape. Great service. Not sure why the out of country fee needed to be charged.
I thought I’d obtained a good deal with Avia, via EconomyBookings.com: €560 for 12 days’ hire of a standard sedan. When I got to the rental booth, Avia staff told me I needed to pay an extra €1300 deposit in order to incur no further insurance fees. I tried, but as my credit card spending for the month was maxed out, I couldn’t pay the (nearly) €2000 they were asking for. I therefore had to pay €234 to lower the deposit to €500. With no clear benefit from that extra payment t (it should have given us better coverage for scratches and other minor incidents. Another Avia staff member still scared me by saying that in case of a flat tire I should buy two new ones myself!) This is a scam of the lowest level, which shouldn’t be allowed to happen. Avoid Avia like the plague Update: Avia's response further proves their incredible bad faith, as does Pablo's comment from August 15, he too was forced to pay a ridiculously large deposit with no prior warning (& no, noone reads the small print. Avia takes advantage of this)

When picking up the car at Zagreb I needed to call an Avia employee to get the car. No Issue as they came in about 15mins but a little inconvenient. Apart from that, the car was great and was good value for the 47days I had it during my stay.
Pula Airport The staff were very helpful. The car was exactly as requested and easy to find. However, my credit card, didn't work. This shouldnt have been a problem - I had a debit card and my companion had a credit card too. But the staff did not have the flexibility to use either of those. The card had to be in my name (even one from a joint bank account was not acceptable) and had tob e a credit card not a debit card. We ended up having to re-book from scratch - at a different price. Or go to one of your competitors. This would be an easy change to make and would avoid, what must be, a frequent occurrence
Nos dieron un vehículo de inferior categoría a la que te teníamos reservado. Alquilamos un Volkswagen T-Roc por la capacidad del maletero (éramos 5 personas con las maletas) y nos entregaron otro vehículo de inferior categoría y con un maletero mucho más pequeño. Después de una hora y media no nos solucionaron el problema.

Good quality cars. Very clean and in good condition. Only marked down as they try to upsell insurance at a high price when you collect the car, even if you have already purchased insurance from the comparison site. They are not the only company that do it, but I don’t like the practice. Be more transparent when initially reserving the car and I am sure you will get more repeat business.
