Jan 19,2024Amanda Watts was our Solicitor on a property sale and purchase we carried out in 2015. The experience was so good that we tracked Amanda down again in 2023 to manage the sale of our self build property and the purchase of our new house. The 2023 sale and purchase were flawlessly managed again. Amanda is a rockstar, experienced, professional and efficient with a non-nonsense approach and a very human sense of humour. We would recommend Amanda to anyone and we will 100% hunt her down next time and hope she takes us on again!

We communicated on line, by email, telephone and I visited their office. Final exchange of contracts and completion worked seamlessly. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and recommend them to others.

Jan 14,2024I used this company for conveyancing a house purchase and due to their laziness and incompetency they cost me over £30K and I lost my home. Do not use this company at all. They operate by having teams of non-qulaified legal secretaries or below doing the work, supervised by a single solicitor across many hundreds of case loads. My conveyancer went on holiday at a vital point and failed to send me the coveyancing documents and the sale and my mortgage offer then fell through. They do the bare minimum of work in the purchase prodcess and do not help or explain the process at all. A really incompetent company who rely on the protection of indemnity insurance and the deeply flawed work of the Legal Ombudsman to get away with their poor service. It is a lie to say my complaint was dismissed, it was not prioritised and was not investigated at all. So the complaint still stands and has not been looked into . If, like so many others you do fall victim to this bunch of frauds I suggest you do not bother with their internal complaints process which is really an excuse for this immoral bunch of smart arses to gather evidence against your complaint, they have no morals and no intention of ever owning up to their mistakes. If you are damaged, like so many others, by this firm go straight to court and sue them for negligence - you won't get justice for free however much you hope the ombudsman will corrct things for free, they only look at extreme cases and even then cannot order binding remcompense. I do not believe any of the positive ratings which I think they put on themseles. However much this firm screw-up your life through their neglect and ignorance they always will come up with an excuse to say they are blameless. Do not use this firm! Pass the word as wide as you can. They are unashamedley incompetent and fraudulent in the service they offer. Better to pay far more of a small firm near you, and with someone you can look you in the eye.

Jan 02,2024I used Dutton Gregory for a Medical Negligence Claim. After a year they suddenly dropped the case. Found a New Lawyer that has had success. Reported to Legal Ombudsman. They seem very nice but ineffective. On reflection they have some very poor reviews. Never met the Solicitor in the year. Be very aware when using them

Dec 14,2023Very happy with the professional service received from the team at Dutton Gregory. Amanda Watts handled the sale of our flat, and Jason Smith and Chloe Hall handled the accompanying lease extension. As is typical with these matters, there were numerous delays, but I believe they were caused by the other parties involved - Amanda and the team were helpful in chasing things up for us. The DG app was also good, showing the steps involved, with notifications as things progressed.

Nov 21,2023DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Absolutely poor legal performance, customer service and an appalling attitude in general. All this during a very stressful time for me! The fees were unreasonably astronomical and the Solicitor performance was appalling resulting in me dismissing the Dutton Greggory Solicitors from the service just after the First Court Hearing! I am now in a position where I have no other choice but to approach the Legal Ombudsman to look at Dutton Gregory Service and their shocking fees at a very difficult time for me and my Family. And Dutton Gregory YES I AM FRUSTRATED WITH HOW I WAS TREATED BY YOUR COMPANY AND YOUR ASTRONOMICAL FEES WHICH HAVE BEEN QUESTIONED BY THE JUDGE AT THE TIME OF THE HEARING! YOUR SERVICE IS APPALLING!

Nov 20,2023Let me warn you upfront: if you can AVOID using this firm please do, run away as fast as you can! When I purchased my property in April 2023, I naively trusted them to handle the transaction professionally. Yet six months later, they still haven't transferred the service charge money I sent them in trust to the rightful owner. I understand that my solicitor was on maternity leave, but they should have provided me with someone competent to resolve this mess. Instead I am dealing with some clueless junior who clearly has no idea how to fix the situation and deliver on outcomes. I'm appalled and angry that I'm still waiting on funds that were supposed to be delivered over half a year ago. This gross incompetence, negligence and lack of accountability is completely unacceptable. I am absolutely outraged that this company took my hard-earned money, charged exorbitant fees, and didn't even have the decency to deliver what was promised. Not once did they follow up with a phone call or make any effort to make things right. Their complete lack of customer service and failure to rectify the situation is unacceptable. I trusted them and they took advantage of that trust. They clearly do not value their customers or deliver on a service. I've never been treated so poorly by a business before. Nov 04,2023Dutton Gregory are probably the worst firm of Solicitors that it has been my misfortune to deal with during a professional career spanning 50 years ! Dutton Gregory mishandled a straightforward Estate case which resulted in an error of over £60,000 in the Probate calculation due to omission of a Capital Gains Tax liability due by the deceased and therefore overpaid the Inheritance Tax liability by more than £24,000. I found it necessary to report Dutton Gregory to The Legal Ombudsman. Although Dutton Gregory subsequently corrected their various errors, the firm failed to pay interest on client monies held, in breach of the Solicitors' Accounts Rules. And, by the way, Dutton Gregory charged over £30,000 fees including time spent in correcting their own errors !
