Oct 10,2023There are not enough words to describe how disappointed we are with Dutton Gregory, a firm who we have used as a family for over 30 years and who, as a business, we have recommended to clients in the last 10 years, resulting in them gaining a lot of new business! We asked them to assist us evict a tenant refusing to leave our property. Two months and £1500 later we are no closer to getting the tenant evicted, and the sale of said property (business we have also given to them) getting closer to being jeopardised. My husband has spent many hours at a cost to his business providing information, chasing the so called “Landlord & Tenant Law Specialist” to get things moving and chasing them for updates. And, despite being reassured by both them and a Senior Partner some 10 days ago that eviction proceedings would be started that very day, when my husband spoke to the tenant two days ago and the relevant council housing department today, he found out that this had not happened. Dutton Gregory have quite simply made an already stressful situation even more stressful. We will not be using them for future family matters and we certainly won’t be recommending them to our clients.

Sep 10,2023We have always been told buying your first house is a stressful process, but Dutton Gregory made it more stressful! We had to chase our case handler on several attempts to remind them of deadlines and were never able to get through to them on the phone, as they were always ‘busy’. We also didn’t receive call backs after this. This also resulted in us almost not being able to purchase the property. There was also several mistakes on the paperwork with names etc being misspelt several times. It seems like we paid them a premium for us to do their job. We would not recommend to a friend. Edit: After your response, the mistakes were made at the beginning of the process, not when ‘rushing at the end’. The delay from the provider was due to you not responding to their emails. And we made our case handler well aware of the deadline we were aiming for in advance.

Aug 13,2023I am reviewing Dutton Gregory Chandlers Ford and two solicitors who dealt with the conveyancing of the sell of my Parents house and purchase of their new property. My expereince is consistent with the review posted here on April 17th and I experienced all the same issues. Inaccurate paperwork (they got my Parents names wrong on the contract more thn once), consistently poor communication, lack of response, poor communication, defensive when I shared feedback, no urgency, missed deadlines, hopeless and unavailable on the day of completion creating huge stress for my Parents on their moving day. Completely messed up the payment of the stamp duty thay we have funded, resulting in my Parents receiving bills and threats of interest and penalties for something they had already funded for DG to pay. I wrote to their Managing Partner who initially ignored my email and then provided and excuse that he was too busy when I chased him and finally responded. I have bought and sold real estate around the world and never had such poor service. I pointed out they had other poor reviewes for conveyancing on this and other websites and they said thats because "we did not pay for good reviews" - totally missed the point and summed out the kind of firm they are!

Aug 07,2023We would have given 5 stars but during our experience with Dutton & Gregory there were 3 Solicitor changes so never got to build a relationship with them, however the last Solicitor that handled our case was very helpfu and we received the outcome we wanted without court proceedings.

Jul 18,2023When moving home and searching for a solicitors to make the process easier please avoid Dutton Gregory. Their service is shocking, no clear instructions, send masses of documents with absolutely no context, do not respond to reasonable questions. We spent the whole process being updated on the progress by the sellers of our property who informed us of our exchange and completion sometimes hours before our own solicitor. Tried to make a complaint midway through the process and the partner was rude and obnoxious then further made a complaint through their complaints procedure who was incredibly rude. In future if I had to choose between asking my son to act as my solicitor or Dutton Gregory I wouldn't hesitate in choosing my 9 year old son.
