I would strongly recommend JMW solicitors who handled my clinical negligence claim with professionalism and sensitivity. Angharad Hughes always responded promptly to all my emails and calls and made a difficult process that much easier.Thank you
I’m purchasing my first property and JMW conveyancing team came recommended to me via the sellers’ estate agents - Philip James Partnership. During an initial phone call with JMW at the beginning of August I was told that they would aim for a completion date toward the end of September. It is now close to the end of November and I still have absolutely no idea when my purchase will be complete. Throughout the process I have had to actively chase for updates myself - there is nothing proactive from JMW. I’m now at the end of my tether. In all my phone calls to them they’ve only answered twice! Messages are not returned and I have to wait days/weeks for replies to emails. If I’m lucky enough to get a response the replies are short, generic and distinctly lack any impression JMW are actually doing much to progress matters. There is absolutely nothing abnormal or complicated about my purchase. All I get now is blaming “the other side” but the seller’s solicitor appears equally frustrated as I’ve ended up a message carrier between them with help from the estate agent in an attempt to make some progress – all stuff that I thought I was paying JMW to do for me. So far the delay has cost me over £1500 in terms of additional rent I’ve had to pay. This is money which was supposed to go toward solicitors fees etc., which I may now have to borrow to pay.
Angharad Hughes and team have been approachable and showed genuine care throughout what is inevitably a difficult process. I can't thank all involved enough for keeping me up to date, offering sound advice and explaining complex matters when needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JMW to anyone who is in need of their expert services.
Do not use these solicitors for conveyancing. Abysmal service from these solicitors. They do not reply to emails, they do not answer phone calls and when the agent was asked to intervene to get the necessary paperwork they did not reply to them either. They have held our sale up by 2 weeks so far by their incompetence only hope we don't lose our buyer through their behaviour. They came recommended by Philip James agents and can only presume they received a pecuniary advantage from doing so.
A massive thankyou to Angharad Hughes, who along with the fantastic team she assembled, managed to negotiate a sum of money from a quite complex clinical negligence case, that gives my wife and I financial security and facilities that will best suit my needs. Professional, approachable, hard working and kind. Thoroughly recommend.
Glad I chose jmw to represent me they helped me through my case and was very professional throughout
Our solicitor Elizabeth Davies handled the case very efficiently. She communicated with us on a regular basis and was understanding and sympathetic. The case was dealt with in a professional manner.
I used this firm for two sales and 1 purchase feeling it would be easier to be dealt with by one firm. How wrong I was. They were non responsive to requests to return calls. Repeatedly failed to answer questions via email. I was at my wits end. They did not do anything to help or support. I paid them a small fortune for the three transactions, another part of the problem they have all the cards, poor customer service, generally poor service, rude & ignorant and they get to take your money anyway. The service ever so slightly improved after a complaint to senior management by my estate agent & myself. The sales have now completed & I still haven't received all the documents.
Avoid for conveyancing. They’ve clearly taken on too much work. I could never ever get a phone call answered. Emails were ignored for weeks at a time. Disorganised and no communication. Go with a small firm where you can talk to a real person.
Excellent Service from Jan and the team Very knowledgeable helpful and patient Thank You very much Jan and the team at JMW Manchester
My case owner was changed after I don't get an update for week. The new case owner is good in the beginning, but then it gonna to be the same. I sent all the information asap when requested but then I'm difficult to get the update and even a target completion time. I also sent an email to the general feedback account for assistance, but no reply so far. Summary: - I keep asking but rare to receive a reply. - It look like an one way communication. According to the trustpilot rating, JMW is a good choice and able to response user feedback. (That the reason I choose) To be fair, I think the reason maybe I'm new to UK and it may take a longer time to proceed my case. But in the past few months, I could feel a communication problem with the case handlers. The estate agent is now asking for the update. I'm worrying now.... Updated: (12Nov) - So I have got a reply from the case owner and have a big step in my case now, I hope it could be going smooth and work under a good communication.
We have had a compensation claim in with JMW Solicitors since 2017 that has finally been resolved in the past couple of weeks. We have had consistent communication and information throughout and have also had good advice and conversations over the phone. Our settlement payment was received well before expected and Laura Roche ensured she fought for what we deserved. I cannot recommend them or Laura enough. Thanks so much.
Excellent Advise , guidance and help from Kimberley Pete from the start. Kim took on my husbands case a few years ago and has supported me to get the best justice she could for my husband's case which was medical negligence. Thank you Kim. Myself and my family appreciate everything you did
The JMW team (Sumara as main solciitor with Monica and Roi as support) assisted me for my British citizenship application. They have always been very clear on what the process would entail and have been very responsive thoughout the process to any question I had, including some more fiddling points such as the requirement for CSI for European students or any travel restriction I could face in the application period. Sumara was always extremely patient, clear and committed to provide me with full explanations, as well very reassuring as the process can be a bit stressful for European residents. I have recommended her to anyone who has asked me for a recommendation of a UK immigration lawyer for this process. I was also very please with the support of the paralegals involved who were very responsive and precise.
Very efficient and excellent service. Also good communication and regular update. He is committed to his job and its done in a professional manner. I would highly recommend him.
It clearly and explicitly says no win no fee on their website, but when you contact them they don't offer no win no fee services and imply that you've misunderstood. Don't waste your time.
Alison and her colleagues helped my nephew and myself through a very difficult no win situation in which my nephew found himself in through no fault of his own. They fully understood his situation and were very sympathetic and helped him to achieve the best possible outcome.
Rebecca cahill helped us with are case from start to finish, updating us all the way. Highly professional team of experts. Can't thank them enough.
We worked with Golly, Marina and Billie at JMW on our recent purchase and have been delighted with the service and advice we received. Dealing with the legalities of a house move can be complicated and challenging but the team were supportive throughout. We successfully completed our house purchase in 3 weeks time and before the stamp duty holiday deadline! Would thoroughly recommend! Many thanks for all the hard works again! Well done the team!!

Dec 04,2021To give a summary of circumstances, following the loss of our grandmother and mother, my younger brother and I were left our family home in my grandmother's will, as she had forseen the circumstances where myself, my mother, and my brother would need the family home to live in, and her other daughter (my aunt) had multiple properties and plenty of wealth to support herself on, a situation which all parties were happy with. In 2019, after the death of my Grandmother and when my mother was dying of Cancer, my Uncle (who now had power of attorney over my Aunt as she had developed early onset Alzheimers) came to us demanding 75% of the estate, which consisted solely of the family home, on the basis that the will did not matter, and that since my mother would die soon she did not need anything, and suggesting that he would take us to court if we did not give him what he wanted. My mother passed away shortly after this initial correspondence, and I contacted Alison at JMW around that time on the recommendation of a family friend. Having Alison and her team working for our defense over the past two years has been incredibly valuable. Navigating the absolute minefield of inheritance law, and knowing what is and is not relevant, what information to highlight, where to scrutinise and where to leave well enough alone, even with all the time in the world to study the letter of the law, it would have been easy to make missteps without Alison's extensive knowledge and understanding of the process, and her advice on how and when to proceed on issues, what is considered reasonable and unreasonable in the eye of the court, all of this has been immensely helpful. I would particularly like to mention how useful Alison's knowledge was when it came to knowing whether or not the claimant's requests were reasonable. Of particular note was the fact that the claimant constantly pushed for mediation and out of court settlement, knowing that refusing mediation is usually seen as an unreasonable thing to do, but Alison managed to guide us through what offers we could make and take, how we could proceed, and how to bulletproof our refusal to mediate to show that in fact we were not unreasonable in doing so. On a personal level, I would also like to mention how good Alison has been at taking my needs into account during this very difficult time, handling issues at arms length with minimal input necessary from myself during periods where I have been extremely busy with other stresses, such as an exam period at University. The claim has now been dismissed, as it should have been, and the claimant has been ordered to pay the costs incurred. To my mind it seems that this should have been the outcome all along in a case where a millionaire with multiple properties and a history of business directorships tries to take the family home from two young bereaved brothers with no other family and nowhere else to go, but the legal system is full of traps and it would have been nigh impossible to navigate without someone with the breadth of knowledge and experience that Alison and her team at JMW provided.
