(Original title: "Terrible customer service" - but read on) Kamatera doesn't put many controls in the hands of the user, and expects you to contact customer service to perform many tasks such as setting up Reverse DNS for an IP address. This wouldn't be so bad if the customer service wasn't awfully hostile, getting mad at you for not meeting requirements that you weren't even told about. The first time I tried to apply for Reverse DNS, I was told that I needed a domain that pointed to one of their servers. I did that, but didn't have a web server running. They rejected me, even though the domain pointed to the server's IP address (with an A record - verified using `dig`). Fine, I guess. Can't set up a mail server without a website. I installed Nginx, set up SSL/HTTPS and everything. Applied again. They told me, and I quote, "Our terms demand that you present a real website with real content and provide real contact details". WTF? So in order to set up Reverse DNS (I can use every other function of their management console), I need to provide a "real website with real content". Not proof that the domain really points to the server. Not a working web server with HTTPS. A "Real Website". At this point I don't even know what that means. I'm afraid to apply again because they might just get fed up with me and delete my account or something. I don't know what they will consider a "real website" or not. EDIT: On March 23rd (one day after I wrote my review), I was emailed directly by a Kamatera support representative to schedule a phone call. Over the phone call I described my issue and how frustrating it was to try to conform to arbitrary requirements like having a "real website". I was assured that they would try their best to personally assist me, and they made sure to let me know that this was because of my review that they wanted to get changed. I was informed that, while I did require a "real website" to get a PTR record added, I was free to talk with my new personal support contact to make sure that, once there was content on the website, it complied with all guidelines before opening a support ticket (to not waste anybody's time). I let them know that once the website was fully finished and ready for review, I would send it to them for review. On April 25th, about a month after the initial contact, I was emailed again to ask on the progress of this. They once again expressed interest in getting my review changed due to the damage it was doing to their reputation (their words, not mine). I let them know that the review will be changed as soon as the issue is resolved, but that coming up with a "real website with real content" takes time. This time, they decided to compromise, and said that if I explained my setup in full detail and agreed to fully comply with their Terms of Service and Acceptable Usage Policy, then they would be able to add the PTR record *without* having a "real website with real content". I did so, was asked to create a support ticket, and did so. At first I received a confused reply from one of their support members that didn't understand that there was a prior agreement, but this was quickly resolved (within 10 minutes). I was reminded that if there were ever any complaints of spam originating from my server, my account would be immediately suspended. This is fine, since I won't be sending any spam, lol! As agreed, I am updating my review from 1 star to 4 stars. The initial customer service was bad, and while I did receive help after posting my review, it was only because I complained publicly. With that said, they made no attempt to hide their intentions or the fact that they wanted the review changed, and were incredibly honest and open with me, which I find quite nice. I feel like this is a fair rating based on the time and effort it took me to get here and how difficult it was to get my issue resolved. But it is resolved now, the PTR record was added and my reverse DNS is finally set up.

We've tested many of the so-called "performance" server and data center providers, but always had an issue either with sluggish server performance or very slow support response times. Our experience at Kamatera has been completely the opposite. The server has been stable as a rock and very responsive. Helpful support dept. replies come quick, and they even give you a friendly, dedicated account manager that can help advise with your business-level needs. With plenty of data center locations to choose from, the way forward is looking bright and we are very excited to have found a partner in Kamatera, can't say enough good things about them.

Not happy, asked them to delete my account as i have concerns with security. Requesting private information like Photos of ID, Cards over unsecured channels is a huge issue waiting to happen.

I have been consistently impressed by the services and support for many years now. My servers have been up without nearly a single blip, my questions have been answered and I find the portal for configuration to be as clean as anything I've seen. Additionally, I have not found better pricing anywhere, I will Kamatera great success that they deserve.

DO NOT open this account. They will bait and switch when you open the account. The price will increase by 50% by what you configure. Horrible customer service. Its based in another country and i cant get them to close my account. I was misled. What was $100 turned out to be over 150 a month after giving them my credit card details.

Review updated at their request. If you want any service that costs more that $100 a month you need to message them to get your quota increased. This is in their policy. They can increase it to $300 per month, but again anyone who needs any processing power, this is not enough. Upon this negative review they offered me a quota of $500 per month, but to get the power I need, I'd need a quota of $1500 per month. It also shouldn't take a negative review to get it. Again as per my original review, to decline business is a very strange way of doing business (or not in their case). If you need processing power, use AWS or IBM Cloud. I always try doing business with the smaller companies before I go to Amazon.

Great hosting service. We have the 8 core, 6gb ram cloud package. Works flawlessly, never had a problem. They have London based servers available which was a requirement for us. Customer support is very responsive, helpful knowledgeable. Best hosting company I've used.

I had a simple problem about my non-root admin level user getting a sudo error saying the system was unable to resolve the hostname. Their support team sent me a link to an article that was not helpful and then explained that they would not answer my question unless I signed up for a management services contract for $50/month with a minimum 6 month period.

Kamatera is simple, reliable and inexpensive. The Customer Service team is excellent. I have been using Kamatera cloud server in production for three months and I am staying. I expanded my server resources a few times, the procedure cannot be easier, everything happened automatically, without interruption and very quickly. My server grows with my business. Pricing is affordable, very simple and transparent. Thank you, Kamatera!

I have received the telephone call from kamatera and they have given the detailed explaination of the configuration. Although the customer reply ticket should be improved in the way of replying client can be quickest and accurately especially there is no longer livechat to help me through this more effectively. Will continue to use kamatera and see if it can fits my requirement for long term. thanks.

They are not the cheaper in the market but they give a good service. I didn't have any complaint with them They are a bit annoying creating a new account (I must send my photo) however, since I am not doing anything illegal then it is not a big deal (but is still a burden). The support is also OK and fast (at least in my case).
