So far so good. I've got a Linux box, and a windows box with MSSQL Server running. Everything is fast and smooth. Setting up a VPN and putting my servers on a LAN was super easy. You can even fire up a box at the hourly rate if you just need to try something really quick. I look forward to growing my business with Kamatera!

I signed up with Kamatera because I am in need of a secure and reliable VPS system that my clients can use to test my software in a virtual environment. Kamatera has an affordable hourly plan that I can use to set up my server, shut it down when not in use, and turning it back on when I have a client needs to use it. Financially, it makes a lot of sense. On a more functional perspective, I love the way it works and how convenient it is to have a high-power virtual PC wherever I go. For instance, I can access it at a hotel's business center and treat it as my own remote PC. I like how I can set up my own specs depending on my need. I can connect using Remote Desktop Client flawlessly and it works just like that! I've worked with their customer service team as this is the first time I've used a VPS. They've made it super easy for me, answered all my questions, walked me through it step by step and got me going in no time. Overall, great company, great customer service, reliable servers and good flexibility with their billing plans.

They just logged me out! for no reasons and i'm still seeing pending charges Please i want my Kamatera account deleted right now! i contacted them through email but to no avail
After initial problems creating an account, everything went smoothly. Their customer service team is extremely quick and helpful, their pricing is reasonable, and the user interface is extremely easy to use, compared to something like AWS. The servers seem fast and responsive, so altogether a very positive experience.
I signed up for their 30-day free trial mid-July 2023. They require a credit card to do this. I created a server for which they gave me a black-listed IP address. I contacted their support immediately and requested a clean IP. They gave me the run-around for a week, then said delete that server and create a new one to get a new IP. I did that and I got another black-listed IP. I reported it again to support and they stalled with a circular dialog that went nowhere. After about two weeks (early August) into the trial I deleted everything and cancelled their services. Got confirmation. Seemed fine. Then in September and October they started issuing small charges to my credit card even though I had terminated and was not using anything from them. My credit card company requested that they stop charging me, but they ignored the request and have continued to do so. In the process of filing complaints. Addendum: I contacted Kamatera about those charges and they said it was for a server backup they made while trying to resolve the issue. When I terminated my account, I requested that everything associated with my account be deleted. Their support rep confirmed that request. So, there should have been nothing there to charge me for. Now, they tell me they deleted that backup and that I should not be charged again. Overall, an ongoing nightmare that has consumed way too much energy. Addendum.2: Mid July 2023 I decided to evaluate three discount hosting services. All had 30-day trial periods and similar server hosting packages. I was prepared to keep all three if they lived up to their advertised claims. One did and I am very happy with them. Their support is very responsive and their billing is transparent - I know what I'm being charged for; nothing more. The runner-up seemed ok at first. Though their angle was to sell you expensive add-on services. Support was slow, especially if you didn't add those premium services. Still, cancellation within the trial period was pretty straight-forward. They refunded the small upfront charge right away. No B.S. Kamatera came in last. Support was unresponsive and when they did reply gave excuses (multiple times) and a run-around (eg. "wait a few days and it should clear up" - never did). Seemed like a delay tactic to me. This went on for two weeks. Finally, they told me to delete my initial useless server and create a new one with a new IP. Had the same issues with the new. And the same replies from customer service. At that point I decided to just cancel. I asked them to delete everything associated with my account (credit card included). Even though they told me they did, it never happened. About a month after cancellation, small monthly charges started appearing on my credit card statements. I contacted my credit card company and showed them my evidence of cancellation. They refunded me immediately and requested that Kamatera stop billing me. Kamatera ignored their requests (as said by my credit card company). Regardless of the amounts involved, I wanted to be completely done with Kamatera. Their whole trial experience left a bad taste to say the least.
100% scam! After you key in your credit card information they will lock you out.

I have been using Kamatera for over a year, and the service has worked as advertised. The customer support (Thanks Oren!) has been fantastic. It is nice to be assigned what they call an account manager, so you are always dealing with the same person, there is never any confusion this way when contacting support. Clear and transparent answers, and every request I've had has been fulfilled. Communication has been prompt, respectful, and professional. If you are a competent Linux admin, I couldn't recommend them enough. Service has been rock solid and when I've needed support, it has been excellent. -corkz
