I change my gas and electricity provider regularly, and have been with Tonik for a couple years now. I like that is a ‘green energy’ company, and the prices are very competitive. The changeover itself, was very easy to do, and I am definitely not the most savvy with the computer!! I would recommend Tonik to anyone who wants a good deal!!
My second year with Tonik,- as not only are prices for gas & electric (dual) very good and appear excellent on many comparison sites, but the company is reliable, financially sound and has good website access with all the information one needs. Looks like I might be coming for another renewal on the third year . I can recommend !

I was a customer for over 18 months. They increased my monthly direct debit without notification. I actually received an email telling me it would be increased the after they had taken the increased amount from my account. I have spoken to a customer service operator, in attempts to amend this amount, which was reducing 'my actual spend' each month, I was hung up on, lied to and refused my request to speak to a supervisor. I sent in a complaint via the website. I received a reply 3 months later saying they have will not be investigating the complaint as I have now left their company. It took them over 3 months to produce a final bill, and when I rang and enquired about the amount, the CSO spoke over me, repeatedly refused to answer my questions and said if I am not happy to make a complaint. I relayed that as I am no longer a customer they will no doubt ignore it, as had happened previously. I was told there is a 'new complaints procedure' and it would be looked at. I asked if that was a lie and she did not answer. I found out it was the same process I had gone through, just to have them drop the investigation when I left. Also they told me I was on the cheapest tariff, I rang regarding that and found out this too was incorrect. In all every communication with this company, I was left feeling dissatisfied and frustrated. I found it laughable when I received an email expressing their sorrow to see I was leaving, and to contact them if there was anything they could do to make me stay!!! Runaway it is not worth it. I am now with a different energy provider, paying less that they wanted monthly on their so called cheapest tarrif
I'm generally OK with Tonik, but renewing has been a nightmare. Extremely difficult to contact, even allowing for Covid & promised return calls not made. Came very close to losing me as a customer.

due to system updates... the monthly bill had a few hundred pounds added on.. this was quite a shock.. Apart from that aa long as monthly usage ok... bill is same.

I applied to change suppliers on the recommendation of a friend.I completed the form clearly stating I wanted gas and electric supply confirmed by email from Tonik.after that and in spite of numerous email and calls it took over a month for someone from tonik to admit a mistake had been made. Even now having paid a final account from my previous suppliers I have received a further bill from them as tonik had not implemented the change fully as promised. I am considering changing to another supplier as there does not seem to be any kind of organisationin place

I would have given 5 Stars except for 6 months from January 2020 I was not provided with a Statement of Energy use. I understand the problems created by Covid-19 and home working but all my emails requesting Statements went unacknowledged. I am pleased to write this was corrected at the end of July. Subsequently we negotiated a new contract with a reduced monthly Direct Debit. Usually I have found Tonik's administration prompt and helpful so I am otherwise happy with the company.
Avoid avoid avoid. Took 11 months and escalation to the Ombudsman to get them to update my electricity meter with my smart meter details even though they were provided numbers and photos as requested proof. Even when escalated to the Ombudsman (due to lack of response for months) and 11 months of proven shown usage from the smart meter, they sent me an estimated bill starting the bill from zero with an over inflated bill of £132 a month, up from £30 a month. Even the Ombudsman was shocked of the mess up and agreed they had just rushed to hit the deadline set by the Ombudsman in processing the evening of the deadline date. Then when corrected and still 11 months of proven usage of 1100 units of electricity they sent me an estimated bill for the next 12 months of 3900 units and a DD of £100 per month. To put into context, 1) I live in a one bedroom flat with gas central heating. 2) they have the smart meter readings 3) they have 11 months shown usage So how and why are they using an estimate of 3900 units usage, its not rocket science. I've already set my switch over to EON, gees I hope and pray they are better. I got a smart meter to make life easier and so far its been a complete ball ache.
Very efficient service and very good price
We have used Tonik Energy now for two years and the service we receive is very good. I normally go on a price comparison site to get the best available deal, but Tonik offered a competitive deal which I was pleased to accept.
Tonik is a very good cheap energy company to be with, far better than most . I have been a customer of this energy company for over a year now and was so happy that I decided to stay with them for another year. Don't just take my word for it try them for yourself
Awful customer service , they have mis sold tariffs and refused to switch to cheaper deals. Avoid Tonik energy!
