We instructed Emma Honey to work with us to evict a non-paying, antisocial tenant. We have never had to evict a tenant before and the situation was further complicated by all the law changes during the pandemic. Emma was always swift to respond to our questions, clearly explaining what was happening, when we could expect progress and suggestions about next steps. She liaised with other people on our behalf, including managing agents and site security staff. We thank her for her excellent work and have no hesitation in recommending her.
I was supported by Elliott Jurd during a pretty stressful tenant eviction that lasted around 18 months. Elliott has such a calming nature to him and the clarity of thought and approach really helped to get grips with the situation through various complex stages. He was very responsive and also took time to answer what must have seemed like very trivial / basic questions from me but at no time was it ever patronizing or condescending. Having him there really helped manage the stress and uncertainty of the situation. A real gem of a person and an asset to Dutton Gregory. Highly recommend him for anyone going through a problematic tenancy scenario.
Elliott Jurd was an absolute pleasure to work with. I am thankful and appreciative, Barouh
I wanted to pass on some appreciation for one of the Landlord & Tenant Executive's, Anna Zulfukar. Quite often good service is not acknowledged enough so i think it is important to mention how great Anna has been for me recently in dealing with a couple of cases I have given her. Great to deal with and would certainly highly recommend to others.
Elliott Jurd was very professional throughout the ordeal of evicting a tenant from my property. Always on hand to answer any questions that i had.
My mum pass away, so selling her Flat had a cash buyer so could move very fast. My solicitors Megan did not tell me, I need probate till Three week from employing her in September 2021 . I had my probate early December 2021, did not compete till 1st February 2022. I could never get though to her. I have sold four houses, this service is very bad. I would never use there service again.
I have always received an excellent service from Bev Nias who provides advice whenever it is required.
I have been working with Dutton Gregory on recovering funds from non payment of rent from an ex tenant and I would thoroughly recommend their service. They have been attentive, and very helpful in chasing the funds and sending payment across to me at regular intervals. Also during Covid times where the tenant was not working fixed hours they suggested payment breaks and came up with very pragmatic solutions that were acceptable to both parties. They're always very helpful and a pleasure to deal with, and the cost of the service has been extremely reasonable.
I have been using Dutton and Gregory regularly to help with our possession orders and serving notices. They are Professional, responsive and helpful company. Beverley Nias especially has been excellent, very informative and helpful, readily available and always on top of her work. A pleasure to deal with - highly recommend.
Solicitors are not generally known for their attention to customer service. But when handling my conveyancing, Dutton Gregory reach a new low, tarnishing the reputation of all solicitors everywhere. My solicitor went on holiday not once, but twice, at crucial points in the process, including two days before exchange. Nobody contacted me to tell me this - I found out that my buyers were ready to exchange from my estate agent - and everyone seemed surprised that I should expect it. A simple email would have done, explaining that my solicitor was away, when she would be back and who was handling my file in her absence. It's not rocket science, it's easy. Instead, I was left with urgent and important legal questions and nobody to answer them. Let me repeat - I found out that my buyers were ready to exchange from my estate agent! Not the solicitor that I was paying over a grand to handle the legal side. She didn't even know, because she was on holiday! When I complained, I received a haughty email from Sarah Sams, a partner at the firm, offering no apology, defending and justifying everything that had happened, and saying, "... it is not possible not [sic] notify all client’s [sic] individually when a member of staff is due to take annual leave." This is such obvious nonsense that it beggars belief that anyone would write it. It would take less than 10 minutes to send an email to a list of clients. The problem isn't just that this wasn't done, it's that nobody at Dutton Gregory thinks it is worth doing. Sarah Sams' email displays the root of the problem at Dutton Gregory perfectly. It comes from the top. Nobody cares about customer service there - they don't even know what it is. So this dreadful vacuum where customer service should be isn't going to get better, because the partners at Dutton Gregory cannot see it. As a result, they provide a lazy, complacent service, accompanied by an arrogant, high-handed manner. If you make the mistake of using them, expect the bare minimum, low interest in your situation, late responses or no reply at all to emails and messages, and your solicitor disappearing without notice with no cover. **** UPDATE **** You can see from Dutton Gregory's response below the exact problem that I'm describing. Their response does nothing other than to defend and justify their poor quality service. And they are lying - they did not leave any message asking to discuss the situation, I had to chase down the partner and she did not leave me a voicemail until I had called her. Nobody I spoke to at Dutton Gregory was "fully briefed" - they knew nothing at all about my situation. If anyone was dealing with my case in my solicitor's absence, it was a well-kept secret. They were never "unable to proceed" because of any problem caused by me, and to say so is simply a lie. The phrase "When ... the chain, including yourself, was actually ready ..." implies that I caused delays, which is also untrue. The delays were caused two links further up the chain - which is just as well, because if they had been ready, Dutton Gregory would not have been because the brief dealing with it was on holiday. See the problem? Dutton Gregory have absolutely no clue about service, they don't even understand what it is. They miss the point on a gargantuan scale - it's not about whether there was any "detriment to the transaction", it's about the lack of communication and the ignorant, high-handed attitude towards customers, which is demonstrated in spades by this response, with it's feeble apology as a grudging afterthought in the very last line. There it is, for all to see - use this tawdry firm at your peril.
Very helpful and understanding of my position. Sound advice given. Would appoint again if needed.
We approached Dutton Gregory to help with a problem we had with a tenant and had a quick reply from Elliot Jurd. He always replied to emails quickly and was extremely helpful. Luckily the issue was resolved quickly. I would definitely use them again if needed.
We misplaced our trust in this firm for Personal Injury compensation following a devastating, life changing road traffic collision. We waited three and a half years for a settlement, that was wholly inadequate, in relation to the trauma involved, which we were cornered into accepting, involving injuries both physical & psychological which will remain forever. We believe our case just gathered dust on a shelf (Pandemic or not). We had to re submit paperwork which had already been accepted, so we can only conclude that the items were lost; also after those 3 and half years new information was requested from us quite urgently. Use this firm with Caution, as we were Failed, yet again by the legal profession.
I found Rebecca East to be excellent. She answered all of my queries in a very timely manner and was only too happy to help at any time. I would definitely recommend Rebecca and should the need arise would use her again.
Complete disarray. I represented a group of tenants in trying to obtain some simple legal advice, which was firstly 'lost', then addressed in a half-baked manner, followed by my need to continually chase for progress via escalations within their organisation. Absolute shambles. Perhaps they specialise in other areas, but if your issue is with tenancy agreements, then avoid.
Great service, many thanks. Will definately use you again if needed. Many thanks
I have used Dutton Gregory on a few occasions, where I found them to be very hands on, focused and they got the job done in a timely manner. Therefore, I had no problem with using them for a recent issue I had with a very difficult tenant. I had a satisfactory outcome.
We used Paul Sams and his team in Southampton for the sale and purchase of our property. The team were excellent throughout and we would have no hesitation in recommending to others.
Normally this process would take three to five months, but the arrival of Covid and its impact on all County Court processes, it consequently took approximately 18 months between serving a Section 21 notice and getting the bailiffs in to finally remove the tenants. During this tortuous process I was supported by Natasha Jordan who provided consistent legal advice and got me through the procedures. From my many years of dealing with solicitors I’ve found that they are notoriously difficult to get hold of. However even though Natasha works part time I never experienced any problems getting prompt responses to issues and queries. I would use again.

Apr 05,2022I was supported by Gina Peters on a tenant eviction. Her support, responsiveness and advice took the pain out of the process. I highly recommend the services of Dutton Gregory.
