Can thoroughly recommend this butcher. The meat is not halal or kosher, as in a lot of supermarkets. The quality is exceptional and the service brilliant. Prices are incredibly reasonable. Have shopped at both Faversham and Ashford and just discovered that they offer a free delivery service within Kent. Cannot fault this butcher or the product.
Fed up of rubbish meat from supermarkets we ordered sirloin steaks, lamb chops, sausages, minced beef and chicken breasts from The Butcher of Brogdale. Really impressed with efficient delivery. The steaks, chops, mince and sausages were amazing and great value . They were cheaper or as cheap as inferior meat at the big supermarkets, my kids loved the lamb chops especially (the big Barnsley chops). I thought the steaks were superb, the best I have tasted outside of a restaurant. The only thing that we weren't keen on were the chicken breasts. It seemed good value at £20 for 5 kilos but it was full of water. First used it to make fajitas and was continually having to tip water out of the pan. Shame because everything else exceeded my expectations. Will definitely order from there again though, just not the chicken breasts.
I visited Ruxley garden center with my partner, her first visit. We decided to treat ourselves to a nice meal at home, with quality produce from the food hall. We were admiring the butchers display and was approached by a very confident pushy chap. Offering deals on different meats if bought in bulk. He persuaded us to buy 10 “ Rib eye steaks. Working out at £3.50 each. Worst mistake of my life. The meat was awful. “NOT RIB EYE” . I have no idea what cuts they were but they are the worst steaks I’ve ever had. Full of gristle and tough. Had to throw away the remaining four, as after suffering the first 3 meals together , ruined by the awful meat. So never again will I visit that shop again.
There is a new butchers at Ruxley Manor Garden Centre Sidcup and we have been there twice now. The prices are very competitive particularly the special offers in the display cabinet at the end of the counter that are superb value. The prices compare very favourably with supermarket prices, but the meat is top quality and we will be buying all our meat from there from now. I know they have other shops in the south east and if their prices and quality is as good, you cannot go wrong.

Jun 06,2020After purchasing various meats from Brogdale at Sturry road I decided to cook one of their knuckle joints the following day only to discover that it was rotten even though the sell by date was 3 days away. I returned it and was refunded the cost. During a conversation with the manager there I was informed that as the meat was supplied by another company it wasn't their fault.I said that they had a legal duty to sell it fit for human consumption. The manager told me that they hadn't so if it ended in a court case I would lose and that selling rotten meat happens all the time and complaining on social media will make no difference as they have thousands of customers.
