Northern Energy supply domestic home heating oil, LPG gas, commercial heating oil and LPG as well as Agricultural Oil and LPG from a North Yorkshire base.
My oil was delivered after 10 days of waiting. The driver said the tank guage wasn't working so he fiddled around with it. What he actually did was turned the oil supply to the boiler off. When we had no heating we thought the boiler had gone wrong. Our boiler man was so busy we were left for 3 days without any heating. When he came he told us that the fuel had been turned off. I rang Northern Energy to tell them but they denied that the driver would do that and I am now left with a £95.00 bill from the boiler maintenance company to pay. Customer loyalty counts for nothing with this company. Your reply is exactly what you told me when I rang so what it means is your calling me a liar and standing by your driver. I can assure you we never touched that guage and it was perfectly ok before he came. Why would we choose to have no heating in freezing weather, what benefit is it to us to have to pay £95.00 to be told the oil had been turned off!! Your attitude is not customer friendly as we have been loyal customers for years. The least you can do is offer to pay the heating engineers bill but you have already denied all responsibility. I am DISGUSTED with your manager.
Terrible company. Northern Energy supply my mum (in her 70's) with LPG,,,, They state.. 'We want to make sure you never run out of LP Gas. Your account is on an automatic refilling service, but should your tank level get down to 30% please get in touch so that we can arrange a speedy delivery to keep you topped up.' What a joke that is, few months ago mum contacts them at just under 30%,, they make promises they will top it up and never do, they eventually topped up at about 15% but as the gauge was full of condensation it wasn't easy to read, they didn't replace the gauge. A few months later and mum runs out of LP Gas this Friday, on Saturday they say they will send someone out on Sunday with a bottle to top up until a delivery on Monday, no delivery on Sunday gave excuses of people's birthdays, holidays etc. And they would get a bottle for Monday... Needless to say it's Monday evening and no delivery or bottle to top up the tank. Apparently there will be a delivery first thing Tuesday. It's February freezing cold, no heating, no hot water for my 70+ year old mother who is having to wash with a kettle for hot water. Labour would be proud of how this company is treating a pensioner.
Used them for three or four years no complaints Till now I rang them just before new year, asked when would we get delivery , they have a monitor on our tank which I believe is more accurate than the one on the tank.. I was told we were due for a delivery, still waiting anxiously 14/01/25 .at the age over 80 I have got like this . Unfortunately you just can’t just say get lost I will go elsewhere, as one is tied to a contract! Government intervention is most definitely needed Let’s see I will report further Just had the delivery what a relief!
Yesterday, I thought our boiler was malfunctioning as it kept firing up and then stopping. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that we had run out of LPG, likely due to the recent cold snaps. It was late in the day, around 18:00, when I realized this and I quickly sent an email to NE HQ. They responded promptly with an apology, explaining that due to high demand, they couldn't provide a same-day top-up delivery. However, they didn't stop there, they went above and beyond by arranging for an interim same-day cylinder top-up to be delivered. The kind representative, Stephen, drove 55 miles from his base to personally deliver and fill the tank. Stephen's dedication and the exceptional service from NE left me wanting to share this experience. This amazing gesture certainly deserves a very positive mention. Keep up the great work and have a wonderful Christmas, everyone. Jim
Excellent service I have just changed to Northern Energy and I feel like a customer again. My previous supplier was apoplectic and and couldn’t comprehend that I was charging my supplier. They offered to drastically reduce their price to me but still didn’t match the deal offered. They were very sorry that they had been taking me for a mug for the last few years (paraphrasing) but wanted to keep it me as a ‘valued’ customer
Northern Energy are the epitome of a perfect company - excellent customer service; polite and lovely staff; excellent communicators and always thinking of ways to help their customers.
Terrible terrible service horrible mardy and rude driver ,over priced compared to everywhere else and paid for 750 liters but only got 500 and when complained some nasty rude man ,called David called me never never again sympathy to anyone using these

That's all well and good now I have gathered the courage to talk about my terrible experience with Northern energy, I do understand your situation and I known it wasnt you personally who left it there but your driver did leave a pooh there to put it bluntly, and me and my wife have rang the office in Harrogate and voived our concerns with nothing but laughs and sniggers

Price was the. cheapest I could find. Delivery was one day late, but at 6.30 in the morning. The delivery procedure was so quiet we were not awakened!
Whilst the service is great and having the peace of mind with boiler breakdown cover, the last two orders have cost noticeably more than competitors. Next time if I need oil I may have to reluctantly go elsewhere
